Time to Say Goodbye

We are about to depart Victoria for Seattle in around 30 minutes at 12am.

The verdict? My hands-down absolute favourite cruise, and so unexpected, considering it is a 'cold weather' sailing.

Talking of the weather; we have been so incredibly lucky with just 10 minutes of rain all week! Glacier Bay had the best weather in months and even the crew were taking photos of the scenery under crystal-clear blue skies!

Alaska has been breathtaking. The food has been superb. The staff have gone the extra 100 miles. The ship has been beautiful. The entertainment has been on point and the new friends will be lifelong.

To all the senior officers who have made my time so special. A heartfelt thank you.

Just to add; I paid for this cruise. This was not a promo.

Last but not least, thanks to you for following along!

Victoria, British Columbia

A very brief time on land tonight, and by brief I mean, really brief.

I popped to the souvenir store, picked up a mug and a fridge magnet. Took pictures of the 2 ships in port and at the photo frame, then got back on the ship.

My first and second times in Canada in my lifetime, and both within 3 days.

Victoria, it's been emotional! 😆

Captain Niklas Persson

At the end of The Beatles show, it was time for the emotionally charged 'You Are Norwegian Now' song.

Staff from various parts of the ship, (like housekeeping, performers, dining, etc) are waving to the audience from the massive video screen on stage, in pre-recorded segments.

This is followed by other staff members descending the theater steps to take their place in front of, and on the stage.

Yes okay, I got a little choked.

At the end, it was the Washy Washy guys breaking out their best dance moves. Watch this space!

Oh, and I shook hands and got a selfie with this guy. I think he might be stalking me....

The Beatles in Encore Theater

Such a busy day of activities! I caught the rescheduled Mr Sexy Legs up on the pool deck, which I filmed for YouTube.

Next, it was to Encore Theater for The Beatles: Invasion. How incredibly talented these fab four are!

I was singing, dancing and clapping along for the whole show! Also filmed for YouTube!

District Brew House Invited Event

As per the invite, I headed to the Brew House for 12pm and was greeted by canapés, followed by a flight of beers.

The various 'heads of' made their rounds to say hello and I had a good chat with three of them.

Of all things, I was chatting to the head of Housekeeping about Little Britain! IYKYK.

Lovely views out to the forward of the ship here on deck 8.

Savor Breakfast

I feel like I'm cheating on Taste this morning. 😆

Breakfast consisted of a strong cup of the wonderful coffee as always. Rich, dark and satisfying.

On the food front, it was ham, cheese and onion omlette and my go-to fresh fruit salad and plain yoghurt.

That will keep me going for a while. I have no idea if there will be food at the event in District Brew House at 12pm, so I kept it fairly light just in case.

Good Morning Cruise Fans!

Welcome to our almost sea day! With arrival into Victoria, Vancouver Island at 8pm for a short 4 hour visit, it's a day of (hopefully calm) waves.

At 7am, it was wall to wall sunshine. We have now hit a misty/foggy patch, but it should clear as the day goes on.🤞

I am currently on deck 8 and have pretty much finished filming the ship tour, except a few small bits, including The Haven in the morning, (which may be photos only).

There is an art auction in The Social today, so it is currently set up for that. I'll pop back a little later.

It's now 9:20. Time for breakfast...

Glow Party

Choir of Man ran for over an hour, so I just caught the last 5 minutes of the Glow Party in The Social.

Everyone seemed to be having great fun!

Now it's an earlyish night for me. As we don't arrive into Victoria BC until 8pm, it's virtually a sea day tomorrow, but I have filming to do before (hopefully) most of the ship wakes up.

Oh, and the clocks go forward an hour at 2am.

I seem to have spent my day filming lots of men. 🤔

Food Republic!

It's time for Specialty dinner number 3 of 3.

I meant to try this Asian style a la carte restaurant when I cruised on Bliss way back in December 2019, but I ran out of time.

Not taking any chances on this cruise, I pre-booked way in advance, back in the UK.

Like my visits to the other Specialty restaurants this cruise, I have used my 3-meal dining package.

All food items are ordered via the on-table iPad, (apologies for the highly reflective screen) and is served tapas style. As soon as whichever dish is cooked (or prepared), it's brought to the table.

On the table tonight then was Tiger Roll Sushi, Pork Belly Bao Buns and Kimchi Fried Rice. Dessert was the Green Tea Jar.

Out of everything, I would say the fried rice was my least favorite dish. I think that's more to do with me overdosing on rice though! It was still a great dish. The sushi, bao and dessert were superb!

Observation Lounge Teatime

I had planned to quickly pop to the buffet after a dip in the pool and hot tub, (I should probably mention at this point that the temperature got to a crazy 19/66° today after 5/41° yesterday) but as it was after 3pm, the Marketplace Cafe was closed.

These things happen for a reason. It was down one deck to 15 and teatime in Observation Lounge instead!

I had Ham & Pineapple Foccacia, (don't judge), Chicken Tandoori Tortilla Wrap and a Tuna Salad Sandwich, followed by Green Tea Cheescake. All excellent!

Ketchikan Wander

After the lumberjack show I took a leisurely walk back to the ward cove shuttle bus on the waterfront, passing by the cruise ships docked at Bar Harbor.

It's such a lovely port town! They have cute little stained glass signs on the lamp posts along the waterfront.

Then it was back on the shuttle, back to port and back to my floating happy place!

I got up at 6:30 and popped up to deck 16 with my wake up juice today.

I quickly popped to Marketplace Cafe, (the buffet) for some eggs and beans and got a selfie with my favorite 'washy washy' guy.

Now it's time jump ship and explore Ketchican!

Music Venues Tour

I've done the rounds of the live music venues tonight, (with the exception of the Cavern Club). I'll try to catch that before I get off. All has been filmed for my YouTube Channel.

Starting in the Atrium we had Stick2One with Variety Mix Hits.

In District Brew House it was Piano and Vocals with Beau.

Q Texas Smokehouse had Red Solo Cup with Lili Band.

And lastly, in Sugarcane Mojito Bar, it was Latin Fiesta with Ikebana Duo.

Now it's time for bed. Tomorrow is the famous Lumberjack show in Ketchican!

Manhattan Dinner

Back in the largest MDR for dinner tonight and I've bagged myself a table by the window, (upon request).

Starters tonight were the Bruschetta and the Sweet Yellow Corn and Chilli Bisque. Both great, and I made a right mess of the table with that soup. 😆 Lots of stringy Monterey Jack cheese in it.

Main was Bacon-Wrapped Cajun Spiced Shrimp. Unfortunately, all I could taste was salty bacon. It wasnt a bad dish, I just expected the taste of the shrimp to come through.

And lastly, as there was nothing else I fancied on the menu that didnt look overly filling, my one dessert tonight was Black Forest Cake. Delish.

Sea Day Sunset

This is definitely what you call being in the right place at the right time. I caught this sunset completely by accident.

I think the pictures show just how pleased I was with my discovery! 🙂

John Hopkin's Glacier

Such an awe inspiring place. I've been absolutely stunned by what I've seen.

If you haven't cruised Alaska, including Glacier Bay, you just HAVE to book. My pics and vids go nowhere near to doing this place justice!
