GOV. ART YAP WELCOMES THE GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN. In a ceremonial turnover and launching of rice distribution in Balilihan yesterday, May 17, 2022, Gov. Yap expressed his utmost gratitude to the government of Japan for the 3,333 bags of milled rice donated to the families affected by Supertyphoon Odette all over the province.
The rice distribution which is part of an agreement and cooperation between the ASEAN countries as support in times of need is under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) a regional cooperation scheme aimed at strengthening food security and reducing poverty.
Pleased with the implementation of the program, Yap felt proud as he also has a hand in making the program during his stint as Secretary of the Department of Agriculture.
"Our province will always be thankful to the Government of Japan", Yap said. Aside from the rice assistance, Gov. Yap is also thankful as Japan has always been a partner of Bohol especially in implementing projects for the province.
This is the second time APTERR donated rice for the Boholanos. The first time was in 2013 during the Bohol earthquake.
