Do you have contact with your biological family? If so what’s your current experience? How has the familial relationship matured? Do you believe you have appropriate boundaries set within your family?
Do you find yourself appeasing behavior from family members?

If not, the family you’ve created counts and many times have deeper more meaningful bonding experiences. Do you have support emotionally, mentally and if needed financially? Do you have healthy boundaries set within those relationships? Do you find yourself seeking a family bond with biological family members?

Q: When you were younger, what helped, what inspired you?
A: Greatly known for his Best seller “Finding Fish” as well as the movie that would follow. Antwone Fisher’s poetry is a must have as well. I received the Novel “Finding Fish” and his book of poems “Who Will Cry for the Little Boy” when I was around 12 years old. These 2 books fueled my resolve to survive the situation I was in. To survive Cleveland Ohio Foster Care System, I remember making a decision then that I would write and join the military. I saw it as my only way out. I did in fact join the US Army while in fact a Ward of State at age 17-Mye Morris (Cleveland,OH Foster Care Survivor 1994-2008) More to share, much much more! Podcast, A Ward of State’s Survival Guide to Adulting debuts this JUNE!!! Join us as we connect with other survivors of child abuse, systemic failure, neglect, foster care, residential centers , juvenile incarceration and other issues of trauma. As we explore various ways of navigating careers, relationships, mental, emotional healing and resources to continue healing!
