It was late May 1983 in the handball Southside court at Star Park Ridgewood New York, while a paddle ball game was in action.
As I went to stand up I took an edge of a paddle ball paddle right under the gum line. As the player was swinging back to lunch at the ball in play.
The players paddle had a chunk missing out of it as it was hanging out of my chin like a plank off a ship.
Me not knowing what hit me It sounded like an air raid horn ringing through my head. I couldn't help but think the sky was falling.
Looking at everybody in the handball court looking at me saying to them, what just happened do you hear that do you hear that?
They said no You're the only one hearing whatever it is you're hearing.
I do miss Ridgewood! 😂🤣😂🤣
For the most part total strangers, but at least they were concerned.
I say they were concerned because the look of the of befuddlement on their faces but their eyes were saying, like why the hell are you still standing?
Basically a TKO on my feet.
When I finally regain full consciousness everybody is staring at me with this chunk of paddle board sticking out of my chin bleeding. My hearing still cloudy.
They didn't know how to tell me what I wasn't acknowledging. Despite the blood and they wouldn't let me touch my face.
One of the girls horrified.
One of the young ladies pulled out a compact with a mirror and put it in my hand up to my face.
That's when the light bulb clicked on, I'm laughing my ass off as I'm saying this now.
So I pull out this piece of wood from that really expensive paddle ball paddle lodged in my chin under the bone line wondering how many teeth I broke luckily none.
I bled a little more, I pulled some splinters out and called it a day although the bottom of my jaw never quite felt the same way again.
Until today!
As of recent, it seems like every splinter piece of glass rock or pebble PVC or resin that ever made it past the top three layers of the epidermis over a lifetime have been slowly pushing their way to the surface.
This has been going on for a few years but these past 6 months has been ridiculous, including a piece of Pyrex that got stuck under the skin of one of my fingers and lived there comfortably just above the bone for about 5 years until it finally surfaced about 6 months ago.
You never really know If you got it all out when it comes to hot shattered Pyrex. And it is as sharp as a surgeon's scalpel with micro jagged edges which makes really really it painful as it moves through the skin.
Including and not limited to that Spalding championship paddle ball paddle, I think it was made of bamboo.
I pulled the final chunk of that paddle ball paddle out of my face today!
31 years and it was still as strong as it was before it met me taking up residence inside my face for almost 31 years.
Talk about preserving!
At the rate I'm going, I wouldn't be surprised if I start growing back some missing teeth along with acne next.
I think I'm on to something with regards to the telomeres
I say that because it's like a regenesis from my medical ailments.
New Earth symptoms?🌍
Maybe?🌎
