Hi everyone. Here's a quick tutorial/guide on how to checkmate with a king + rook. There are 3 main ideas:

1. Look to trap your opponent's king, and move them to one of the 4 sides of the board.

2. If your rook is being attacked, swing it over to the other side of the rank.

3. Get into a position where your king is lined up with their king, but it's YOUR turn to move. Then, you can move your rook and check their king, and they'll be forced to retreat their king towards the side of the board!
