India's Anshul Jubli History, Knocks Out Opponent Jeka Saragih To Earn His First UFC Contract
Anshul Jubli of India made history on Sunday by knocking out Jeka Saragih of Indonesia in the lightweight class. After his thrilling victory over Jeka Saragih at the UFC Apex, Uttarkashi-born Anshul became just the second Indian MMA fighter to sign a contract with UFC, one of the sport's most illustrious promoters.
Bharat Khandare, who was born in India, became the first martial artist from that nation to secure a UFC contract after a victory in Vegas.
Anshul Jubli was the underdog going into the bout against Jeka Saragih, yet he completely controlled both rounds. Anshul threw a barrage of powerful blows to start the fight and shown quick reactions to dominate his opponent in the first round.
Anshul used the same strategy as in the first round in the second round, maintaining his safe distance strategy and inflicting ground-based damage on his opponent. He eventually put an end to the battle by finishing Saragih in just 3:44 of the second round.
"We have arrived at UFC, namaste! IS THIS INDIA? Here comes Captain India. We've arrived, but we're not stopping just yet; we intend to climb all the way to the top.
Look at what we just did. India's magnificent Himalayan state of Uttrakhand produced the first ever lightweight road to UFC champion "After the triumph, he stated.
"Namaste UFC" we have shown up! This is India! Here is Captain India. We have arrived, and we will not halt here; rather, we will ascend to the summit.
Look at what we just did. "After the victory, he said, "First-ever road to UFC lightweight winner from the great country India, from the Himalayas of Uttrakhand."
"The strategy was to maintain distance, strike him hard, and dominate. "I'm gonna keep evolving, keep grinding, and my plan is to be one of the best in the world, and I will do whatever it needs to be done," Jubli told the broadcasters.
"And that's exactly what we've done, we've dominated this fight, and we've proved why we are here, why Indian fighters deserve to win the UFC."
