🎉2022 Skin update🎉

In the beginning of the year.. like early Jan. I had no active breakouts.. just dealing with pigmentation. Mid Jan I started getting breakouts, *they've gone down now since I've been treating them**

No, I did not change anything in my routine.

I didn't add a new skincare product my face isn't already familiar with.

My routine has been the same throughout but STILL I got breakouts so I really had to simplify my already simplified routine😂😂

I literally only have hydration and repairing products, no actives - laying low from those for a while -

This is just a reminder that our skin is a living organ on it's own and it is bound to go through changes, whether we like it not.. it WILL happen 💀

Just don't beat yourself up about it❤

But above all, I'm Grateful for life & good health😭

Today I am featuring this Effaclar duo cream from

It is a moisturizing pimple cream specifically for congested and acne prone skin and targets blemishes and oily skin. It is very gentle and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

So earlier today I had the honor of attending the Complete Care for Sensitive Skin Webinar which I enjoyed so much.

Here are a few key takeaways I got from the event:

What sensitive skin is and the 5 signs to look out for which include
- dryness, tightness, weakened skin barrier and irritation to name a few.

I've also learnt that it's important to make sure you use the correct ingredients for your skin's needs, to avoid damaging your barrier.

The Cleanser and moisturizer is made for all skin types and is suitable especially for sensitive skin. I can't wait to share my overall thoughts and review with you guys in a few weeks time.

Have you tried any of these products yet? Personally? I say if you know you have sensitive skin then these a worth a try🙂

Teenage to 21 y/o me would be SCREAMING rn for posting selfies without airbrushing, editing or literally anything that will blur away my acne and it's scarring.

I look back at how insecure I used to be about posting a picture without editing and honestly.. I forgive myself.

I forgive myself for thinking I was any less beautiful because of my acne.
I forgive myself for thinking I had to impress 'online people' with clear skin.
I forgive myself because I did not know better.

And lastly, I forgive myself for placing my worth in the state/condition of my skin. (What a stupid thing to do🤣💀🙄)

I decided to write this because I know there are people who follow me that are STILL in that 'place' and it's totally okay. I just hope my page encourages you step out of that shell and love yourself FULLY, UNCONDITIONALLY & WHOLEHEARTEDLY with your acne.

Lastly.. ndimhle man! And no one can tell me otherwise, pls😭😭😭🤣🤣

HYDROBOOST vs GEL-CREAM.

Firstly, I absolutely love both of them. They're like a staple in my routine.
So, I've recently tried out the gel-cream and here are my thoughts about it compared to the watergel ⬇️

✔ it's fragrance free.
✔ it ACTUALLY feels like a moisturizer whereas the water gel is so lightweight, I prefer using it as a "hydrating serum"
✔ It's still very lightweight compared to most moisturizers so I STILL go in with a moisturizers after using it.
✔ it's meant for dry skin, however, I do feel like if you have dry skin, this should be ONE OF the products you use to add hydration and not solely rely on it for adding hydration because it's SUPER light.
✔ It's got a very lightweight cream texture compared to the gel.
✔ a little does go a long way as it spreads pretty well on the skin.
✔ like most hydrating products, I apply it on damp skin for that extra hydration feeling.
✔ the tubs usually last me a month or so.

** always has a 3 for 2 special, jump on it because i also never buy it alone, always with the special😂😂**

In today's we feature this Anthelios invisible fluid sunscreen.

It's such an amazing sunscreen that's well suited for black girls because it leaves NO white cast.

However, for the price, I'd really appreciate it if it was a little bit bigger and not just 50 ml😅😅

Here's some info you need to know about this sunscreen:

● SPF 50+ with UVA & UVB protection.

● Super lightweight, has a matte finish but isn't drying. And it absorbs really well into the skin.

● No perfume

● Water resistant

● Suitable for sensitive skin, oily skin & acne prone skin.
I also found that it doesn't sting my eyes upon application so that's pretty cool😄😄

** remember to wear 2-3 fingers worth of sunscreen and reapplying whenever you can**

If you have acne, blemish-prone skin this review is the one for you!

The Cleanance comedomed is an ANTI-BLEMISH concentrate that reduces spots and blackheads, limiting their appearance.

CONSISTENCY: it's very lightweight with a gel like consistency that absorbs quickly into the skin. It has a matte finish, is hydrating thanks to the thermal spring water and is non greasy. It it is however, slightly tacky but it all goes away once it's fully absorbed.

Smell: It's fragrance free but does smell a bit planty. I can't exactly explain the scent but it's very subtle, also goes away once the skin absorbs it.

Suitable for: adults and adolescents

**it's not suitable for people with normal skin, dry skin as it's strictly for acne prone skin**

Authentic beauty is the beauty we should use to define women. Authenticity is what makes you, YOU.

I remember there was a time where I used to be so afraid of putting up my bare face on social media because of my acne.

Until I actually came to terms with the fact that acne actually won't go away, it can only be managed.

ONE THING I WILL NOT COMPROMISE ON? IS HYDRATION🥰

The same way you can't go a day without drinking water to hydrate your body🥤💧, is the same way you can't go a day without hydrating the skin on your face🧖🏽‍♀️.

This baby right here does the job for me 😭 It's filled with a variety of minerals that help with hydrating the skin, calming it down and rebalancing the skin's Natural pH balance.

I add it in between my skincare routine steps right after cleansing my face because remember, products are able to pe*****te more into the skin when your skin is damp.

I also love the fact that it's travel sized meaning I can always just pop it into my handbag for times when I feel like my face needs a little WATER BOOST. I'm almost out and I need to get another one. I can't travel without it😂🙈

REMEMBER: End it all of with an occlusive so you trap in all that hydration you've just added.

| A little while ago, sent me their face care range which consists of an activated charcoal exfoliating face wash, a cleansing toner, a serum and an anti blemish face moisturizer.
I shared my honest thoughts on the exfoliating face wash below😁:

● I found it to be very gentle on the skin (for an exfoliant, the particles aren't abrasive on the skin).

● It's got a very, very light scent, suitable enough for those who love scented free products.

● It's not drying on the skin (my face felt moisturized after using it).

● Easily washes off with luke warm water and leaves my skin feeling well cleansed.

● It contains all my favourite ingredients which are safe for my oily, acne prone skin, the first being water😍, kaolin, glycerin, citric acid & salicylic acid just to name a few.

● You can leave it on your face as a mask, that's how gentle it is, considering the fact that activated charcoal can be drying when left on too long 😭😭

With all the above being said and my experience with it, I'd definitely recommend it🥰

Hydration 💦💦
Here's what I have to say about it 👀

This hydro boost water gel is such a great product for adding instant hydration to the skin.

😊It's also very lightweight making it great for adding to your daytime routine.

😊It sinks into the skin very easily, And is suitable for my oily skin because I don't have an excess shine after some time of using it.

😊It also does have a fragrance but it's not irritating, it's a very soothing scent, although if you prefer unscented skincare products.. this one is not the one for you.

😊I do, however, find that I need to add a moisturizer just for that added "lock- in-moisture" feel since it is VERY lightweight so I use it as a hydrator, not moisturizer.

*for best results, use it on damp skin so that your skin FULLY absorbs it*

😊Nonetheless, my face has been loving it😍😭 I'm running out and I need to stock up😂😂

My skin LOVES it! I have really dry skin on my body so this does it, for me😍

Personally, I don't see myself using any other brand for tissue oil. 😭😭

I don't know anyone that hasn't tried it and not fallen in love with it😂😂 thank you so much ❤🥺

DOUBLE CLEANSING

What is it?

It's cleansing your face twice, first using an oil based cleanser, then a water based cleanser. This is done to break down dirt, remove makeup, unclog pores and basically remove all the oil based gunk that your regular cleanser might not remove, without stripping away the natural oils from the skin.

Oils you can use to double cleanse if you have acne-prone skin are lightweight oils that don't have the potential to clog your pores. You could either use natural oils or oil based cleansers that include:

-Grapeseed oil.
-Rosehip oil.
-Hempseed oil.
-Tea tree oil.
-Sunflower oil.

My favorite oil cleanser so far is this one by it's fragrance free, gentle on the skin and is made with 100% grapeseed oil & vitamin A & E.
You can get it at for less than R100.
