🤝 Building a Legacy of Success and Collaboration in the Lowcountry
With Kerri Ramser, Broker in Charge - BHGRE Palmetto as our September Cover Story! 🍂
In the competitive world of real estate, Kerri Ramser has emerged as a top-producing agent, known for her exceptional success and unwavering commitment to her clients and team. With a career that started in Charleston in August 2019, Kerri’s journey to success is a testament to her dedication, resilience, and passion for real estate.
Kerri’s foray into the Charleston real estate market began with just two acquaintances in a new city. She quickly connected with Aimee Peterson through social media, joining the team that Aimee and her husband Terry ran under Realty One Group Coastal. “I was very lucky to be part of such a great team with Aimee and Terry Peterson,” Kerri recalls. When the Petersons decided to start their brokerage in 2021, Kerri naturally followed. After proving her- self as a successful individual agent, she teamed up with Kaitlyn Grant, a former team member. Together, they founded “The Coastal Group,” which swiftly became a valuable resource for new agents. “Our team quickly became a valuable resource for new agents. Now, years later, even after those agents became experienced and successful, they still choose to stay with the team not because they need us but because they want to continue to collaborate with us. For me, THAT is everything.”
Since beginning her career in Charleston, Kerri has achieved remarkable milestones, with a career volume just under $60 million and nearly $25 million closed this year alone across three markets: Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Greenville. Her impressive accomplishments have earned her numerous awards, including the platinum (top 6% in the country) and gold (top 10% in the country) awards with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. Both Kerri and her team have been consistently recognized as Realtors of Distinction in Charleston, and her team has been the top-producing team within their brokerage since 2022.
Before her real estate career, Kerri’s background was in customer ser- vice, a field where she honed her people skills. “I am basically the memes you see on the internet, I was a cocktail server/bottle girl who got her real estate license,” she says with a smile. Her journey from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to Southern New Jersey, California, and finally Charleston, South Carolina, has been marked by a series of experiences that have shaped her into the dynamic real estate professional she is today.
A pivotal moment in Kerri’s life came in September 2016 when she experienced a traumatic event that changed her perspective entirely. “After, I felt like there was more to life than what I was living. I became focused on making my life fun, carefree, and chasing only things that I was passionate about,” Kerri explains. This newfound focus led her to pursue real estate wholeheartedly, eventually bringing her to Charleston, where she has built a thriving career.
Kerri’s passion for real estate is rooted in her belief that owning property is one of the most important investments one can make. “I wanted to be a part of those life-changing decisions for people,” she says. Her commitment to her clients is evident in the way she treats each transaction with the same importance, whether it’s a $155,000 house or an $8 million property.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Kerri’s career has been watching her team grow. “I think it’s amazing that at one point Kaitlyn viewed me as her mentor. Now we are molding a different generation of agents together,” she says proudly. The loyalty and success of her team members are a testament to Kerri’s leadership and mentorship.
Looking ahead, Kerri’s goal is to expand her business in Greenville while maintaining her status as a top producer in the Charleston market. “I hope you see me in the Real Producers magazine of the Upstate in the next two years,” she says with determination.
Kerri’s journey has not been without challenges. Starting in a new place as an introverted person was a significant hurdle, but she overcame it through the power of social media and determination. Her ability to remain composed in tough situations and her proactive approach to problem-solving set her apart from others in the industry. “I will not tell you what you want to hear but what you need to hear,” she says, emphasizing her direct and honest communication style.
Kerri attributes her success to the loyalty and support of her clients and the way she treats people. “I have sold $155,000 houses and $8 million houses, and I treat them both with the same importance and diligence,” she says. Her commitment to doing right by people extends beyond her clients to her team, friends, family, and everyone she interacts with.
Outside of work, Kerri’s life revolves around her wife Nikki, their twin daughters Reagan and Riley, and their two dogs, Frank and Axel. “Right now, I would say our hobbies outside of work definitely revolve around our girls. We love experiencing new things with them,” she shares. Balancing work and family life is a constant challenge, but Kerri is grateful for the support of her wife and business partner, which allows her to pursue her passion.
As Kerri continues to grow and evolve in her career, she remains focused on collaboration and surrounding herself with people who uplift and inspire her. “I am still growing and learning and want to continue to do so,” she says. Her advice to other agents is to strive to be better every day and to never stop learning and adapting.
Kerri Ramser’s story is one of resilience, passion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. In the ever-changing world of real estate, she stands out as a beacon of success and a testament to the power of collaboration and dedication. As she continues to build her legacy in the Lowcountry, Kerri’s impact on the industry and the lives of those she touches is undeniable.
