It's coming up to a year of weekly uploads on my channel and to celebrate, I've been going through all the comments so as to select my ultimate favourites that will feature in a video. In the process, I've been blown away by how many there are. I've remembered what it felt like when the first comments started coming in, and the joy it has been to get to know frequent commenters. I can't believe that a year ago, I had just finished a uni degree and had no idea what I'd be doing next. I feel so grateful for the channel and for all of you beautiful people. Thank you!

I've recently taken a break from the channel after a bit of a dip in my mental health. It was an important time for me to be with myself and with close friends, to reflect and to re-align my priorities (classic Fi reasons).

Sometimes, life drains us to the point of tears; other times, despair. But there is meaning in every hardship, and light is just around the corner if we approach our pain with honesty and courage. This helps us to (eventually) emerge resilient, rather than bitter or jaded.

One of my favourite lyrics from a John Mayer song is "Fear is a friend who's misunderstood, but I know the heart of life is good." Fear is not a flaw; we all experience fear. But we have a choice to face the fear, to use it as an opportunity to understand ourselves and our wounds better, and to work with it in order to emerge stronger.

Every single one of your great role models has faced fear. Fear teaches us very much about ourselves. We ought not to ignore it. The grace is in the courage to go on, alongside the fear. Hard as it is, this will increase strength, emotional maturity, empathy, compassion, and most importantly, will deepen our ability to love truly.
