Executive Chairman, Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph has paid a condolence visit to the Deputy Chief Whip, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Setonji David family on the death of his lovely wife, Mrs. Adenike Beatrice

The council boss, Hon. Gbenu urged Hon. Setonji David to take solace in God and trust Him in this trying time.

In his words, Gbenu expressed; "the news of your wife's demise came as rude shock to me. Your wife Adenike was a very caring and supportive wife until her death. May her soul rest in perfect peace.

LASTMA OFFICERS PAID COURTESY VISIT TO COUNCIL BOSS, GBENU

The Executive Chairman, Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph receives LASTMA Officers, Zone 24 today in his office, Kankon

The Head of Zone 24, Zebra Hunpengan Kehinde, during visit, said the purpose of their visit was to familiarise themselves with the council boss, especially as a community leader of repute.

Our operations covers from Badagry to Agbara (Before Bridge) said Hunpegan

He further appreciates the good works of Hon. Gbenu is one of the outstanding chairmen in the area.

Next month, their will be an influx of vehicles and people towards the beach, I want to assure you that our men will be deployed to the West axis to ensure the seamless flow of traffic. Hunpegan added

As we mark this year's Children's Day, I call on our children to be focused and face their education squarely because they are the future of the nation.

I also want to appeal to the government at all levels and well to do individuals to address problems of out-of-school children, most especially in formative years.

The theme for this year is FOR EVERY CHILD; EVERY RIGHT, I hearby urged our wonderful parents to continue to put a watch on their children while also complimenting the efforts of government and teachers.

I urge our teachers to continue to beef up security during school hours and continue to give their best to academic excellence.

This news of her death came to us as a rude shock, and we can feel the pain that is attached to losing a companion as such.

Over the years, Gusanu has proven to be competent. He has been a flavour in my administration, bridging gaps and maintaining good relationships between the cabinet members, legislators, and management.

Gusanu is a God-fearing politician and has been very consistent in his administrative duties. His dress sense is top notch, which also distinguishes him as a person.

I am pleased to announce to the general public the newly appointed Apex Leader, Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Hon. BAMGBOSE Hontonyon Joseph.

This appointment was deemed necessary considering the important role of the leaders in the structure of our great party, All Progressives Congress - APC

Prior to now, Hon. Bamgbose Joseph had played major roles in the creation of the local government while serving as Member, Lagos State House of Assembly and has held several political positions thereafter, making him the most experienced and qualified person to take over the seat as the Apex Leader of the area.

To further complement the THEMES Plus Agenda of Mr. Governor and our great party, not excluding Badagry West as a land of opportunity at this contemporary age, the appointment of Hon. Bamgbose as the Apex Leader is sacrosanct to help put the area in a vintage position amongst others

Hon. Bamgbose remains one of the most responsive political leaders who understands the political environment of the area and a mentor to me and many.

HON. GBENU HONOURS LATE APEX LEADER AT FINAL BURIAL, HOSTS PARTY FAITHFUL, OTHERS AT GEDU

The Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Hon. Gbenu Joseph Henugbe attended the final burial of Late Pa. D. A Johnson, the Leader 1 Badagry West LCDA.

Hon. Gbenu describes late Pa. D. A Johnson as a mentor, motivator, and dedicated party leader whose legacy will continue to linger in the heart of many even after death

The Executive Chairman further hosted every party member to taste with sounds of music as a last respect to the late Apex Leader in the area.

He urged everyone to take clue from Late Pa Johnson's lifestyle of peace and believe in the government of the day for greater Lagos, Nigeria.

The final burial, which took place at late Pa Johnson's hometown in Gedu, Owode Badagry West, had in attendance top politicians and political office holders.

I, Hon Gbenu Henugbe Joseph wish to with all sincerity associate and commend the National Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE), staffs of the council and the entire working class in Badagry West on the celebration of YEAR 2024 INTERNATIONAL DAY.

Today is a day to celebrate our workers' dedication and hard work, which has helped our Local Council Development Area grow over the years. No doubt Our workers are our strength!

Today is a significant day in history as it marked the onset of eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.

As your Council chairman, I will continue to protect and proffer adequate solutions to your needs, provide a symbiotic working relationship among you all, and also create an enabling and conducive environment that will enhance quality delivery

COUNCIL CHAIR, GBENU HONOURS ASSEMBLY MEMBER BONU AT MOTHERS FUNERAL

Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph, Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA honours Hon. Solomon Saanu Bonu Saanu Bonu , Member Lagos State House of Assembly, Badagry Constituency I at his mother's final burial yesterday.

The Chairman, while speaking with the press admonish the family to take after the step of their late mum whom he described as a devoted Christian, God-fearing and dexterous

Gbenu, who is also the resident council chairman and host of the Assembly member, said his joy knows no bound seeing dignitaries from across the state visiting his LCDA.

The Chairman also used the moment to appreciate Hon. Bonu for his sterling performance since elected into the House noting that he has proven to be a true son of Badagry.

The Executive Chairman of Badagry West, Hon. Gbenu Joseph Henugbe had expressed satisfaction on the officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency - NDLEA.

This statement was made in Badagry after the destruction of a total of 304,436kg kilograms and 40,042 litres of illicit substances seized from parts of Lagos and Ogun states at their Badagry command today, Tuesday 16th April 2024

The Chairman appreciated the Agency for taking the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) social advocacy campaign to schools and communities across Lagos State.

“No doubt, NDLEA is working, and the state will continue to collaborate with the Agency and its leadership”, Gbenu assured.

Speaking at a brief ceremony where the seized drugs were publicly destroyed in Badagry Lagos, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) said the open destruction of the seized illicit drugs followed court orders, even as he called for more public support for ongoing efforts by NDLEA and other stakeholders to curb the menace of substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking in Nigeria.

“Though a routine exercise and an established process of removing dangerous substances from our society, the public destruction of confiscated illicit drugs is usually conducted at the end of their related cases in court”, the NDLEA boss stated adding that the exhibits being destroyed were of mixed types, “which include illicit drugs in solid and liquid states as well as in various classes such as co***ne, he**in, cannabis, and tramadol, among others.”

He said the drugs were seized by NDLEA operatives across different formations of the Agency in Lagos and Ogun states from January 2022 till date especially at the Lagos seaports, airports, and land borders.

As we mark the end of the Holy month of Ramadan and the auspicious occasion of Eid-Fitri, the cabinet, legislators, management, and staff wish to celebrate with all Muslim Ummah in Badagry West and beyond

The month of Ramadan is significant for abhorring wrong doings and selfish interest, I want to urge all muslim faithfuls and good people of Badagry West across the globe to distance themselves from issues that can disrupt our common existence and peace as a people

I encourage us all to continue to show love with a a good act of giving and peace that we have maintained during the holy month.

SANWOOLU REACHED OUT TO LESS PRIVILEGED, VULNERABLE IN BADAGRY WEST

In response to the directive of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu of Lagos State on the Lagos Aid Innitiative, Badagry West LCDA has embarked on a Special Palliative Intervention for hundreds of people living in Badagry West especially the less privileged and vulnerable

The food items distributed through the Lagos Aid Initiative are a lifeline for many families in Badagry West. In a time of uncertainty and hardship, these provisions offer a glimmer of hope and a reminder that we are all in this together.

The distribution exercise were carried out at two diffrent locations for easy transportation and mobility of our people - SUNTAN Beach Arena (Ward D & Ward E Seme Axis) and APA PHC (Ward A, B & C Owode Axis)

In his address to the residents, Hon. Gbenu Joseph, Executive Chairman, Badagry West LCDA appreciates Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his concern and support to the good people of Badagry West.

"In the midst of unprecedented challenges, the Lagos Aid Initiative has emerged as a beacon of hope for the vulnerable populations within our beloved state. it is elating to see the government take proactive steps to ensure that no one is left behind." He said

The Chairman reassured the people of the local government's continuous support and emphasized that this distribution was not the first of its kind.

Not less than 800 less privileged and vulnerable persons benefited. He said

We are not just giving you food packs, we are adding a token to serve as your transportation or better still for your salt and Maggi" He added.

Items bagged per persons include Rice, Beans, Garri, and a token of 2, 000 naira was given to each beneficiary alongside their food palliatives, " said Chairman

The council chairman pledged that those who were unable to benefit from the current palliative would have the opportunity to receive assistance during the next distribution.

He affirmed that names of beneficiaries were submitted across the 99 communities in Badagry West through the CDA/CDC, religious bodies, Association of Artisans, Physically Challenged, etc

CARING COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, GBENU SETTLES EMERGENCY HOSPITAL BILL FOR A RESIDENT PATIENT

Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph, Executive Chairman, Badagry West LCDA earlier today visited the General Hospital Badagry where he settles the bill of a patient who delivered of a baby in another facility for an emergency care in the hospital.

This act was swift to urgently save a soul in a family who is from Badagry West.

This is not the first health support/intervention from Hon. Gbenu as management led by the medical director/CEO, Dr. Olatunde Bakare seized this opportunity to appreciate the gesture of the Council Boss for the needy and glad that the patient and her baby are also in stable conditions.

Speaking shortly after the visit, Gbenu commends the medical director, Dr. Olatunde Bakare for his proactive leadership. He further appreciated the Lagos State Government under the Leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his effort towards revamping the health sector

Last week Sunday, the Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Hon Gbenu Joseph, visited the OUNJE EKO, i.e., the Lagos Food Discount Market Center in Apa, Badagry West to supervise the ongoing Innitiative by Mr Governor.

The Chairman while appreciating Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the Innitiative said the program will enable resident get food items at affordable price hence reducing the level of hardship experienced by the people due to subsidy removal.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu means well for Nigerians. We only need to be patient with him and have understanding. He added.

Other notable person's at the centre include the excos, legislators, and management of the council not excluding the Iyaloja's and other market exectives

The discount market is expected to run for the next three Sundays

In Badagry West, the Centre is APA Primary Health Centre arena.

Hon. Gbenu however encourage families and residents to visit the 'Discount Market' which gives the people the opportunity to buy food items at cheaper and discounted rate noting that necessary arrangements has been made.

The event had in attendance, Wife of Mr. Governor, Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwoolu and other notable women figure in the state.

WE LOST A RARE GEM SAYS HON. GBENU AS HE EXTENDS CONDOLENCE TO FAMILY OF FORMER NULGE CHAIRMAN, COMR. MATHEW HUNPATIN

The Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Hon. Gbenu Joseph has expressed sadness over the death of former NULGE Chairman of the local government, Comrade Mathew Hunpatin, saying the entire Badagry community has lost a genuine patriot.

According to the Chairman, Comr. Hunpatun was the NULGE Chairman from 2011 - 2019, which makes him the longest serving Chairman in that capacity in Badagry West before he was recently posted to Badagry (Central) Local Government

Expressing shock over Hunpatin's death Gbenu said: “it is a loss too many; indeed we have lost a rare gem”.

As a NULGE Chairman, he was there in the thick of all the struggles, discussions, and negotiations till his transition. He was never found wanting. Gbenu said

He was a dedicated staff member who understood the language of local government administration.

“He will be sorely missed. Hunpatin did his best in the service of the people as a former NULGE Chairman and activist.

The Chairman, further pray the family to take solace in the fact that the late elder statesman lived a good life which made a great impact not only on his immediate family but the local government system and the Badagry community at large.

HON. GBENU RECEIVES LAWMA OFFICIALS IN BADAGRY WEST LCDA

The Executive Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Hon. Gbenu Joseph receives officials of the Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) in his office at Kankon, Owode.

The officials were led by the Managing Director of the Agency, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin ably represented by Mr. Adewunmi Adetona, Head of Advocacy

The Chairman, while welcoming the officials, highlighted some of the efforts and programs of the local government towards a sustainable environment explaining the role the council has played in evacuating accumulated dirty along Seme border lines.

Gbenu also lauds LAWMA Street sweepers for their dedicated to work in the area.

Speaking, LAWMA DG representative, Mr. Adewunmi expressed that "the purpose of visit is to sensitise and advocate on the best waste management practices in Lagos State, and we can not do this without involving without involving the local government at the grassroot

"We want them to help us transport the message to the grassroots to let them know that waste management has to be properly practised in Lagos ." He said

The Executive Chairman, Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Hon. Gbenu Joseph receives the new Commanding Officer, 15 Field Engineer Regiment of Nigerian Army, Topo, Badagry, Lt Cornel SL Lawan during courtesy visit to the Council, Kankon.

The Chairman while speaking commended the Nigerian Army for committing to the rules of engagement and professionalism in its peace mission across the country.

He further reflected on how well he has been very cordial with previous Commanders.

Gbenu also pledged support for the new army commander in its discharge of security operations in the area.

Lawan during his address assured the council chairman of his readiness to give his best in terms of security to the area, especially as a border area.

The two days workshop focuses on Anti-Corruption, fiscal responsibility, and Affective Leadership Training for all Local Government Councils in Nigeria

Representatives from Badagry West LCDA include Hon. Rauf Yemaren, Vice Chairman, Hon. Sejoro Matthew Idowu, Leader of the House, Hon. Alli Kareem, Supervisor for Environment, Mr. Asunni, Council Treasurer and the Council's Human Resources Officer.

COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, GBENU PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO FAMILY OF LATE APEX LEADER, PA. D.A. JOHNSON

While death has remained inevitable, the news about the passing away of our political leader and father, Pa D.A Johnson, came as a rude shock to us as a local government.

These were the words of Hon. Gbenu Joseph, Executive Chairman, Badagry West LCDA, during his condolence visit to the berieved family at their residence, Gedu.

Indeed, we have lost a political father whose gargantuan contribution towards the growth and development of the area can not be compared. Said Hon. Gbenu

During visit, Hon. Bamgbose Joseph, a former Member House of Representatives, enjoins the family to be hopeful in the Lord and take clue from the good works of late Pa. Johnson

Bamgbose describes late Pa D. A Johnson was a very dedicated and disciplined leader who played a significant role in the party APC while he was alive.

The visit had in attendance apex and core leaders in the area, including cabinet members and councillors.
