As many of you already know by now, I am a huge advocate of living a flexible lifestyle, instead of restricting certain food groups.
Unfortunately, words on the internet are taken out of context far too often and as a result some assume that flexible dieting is a synonym for consuming junk 24/7, while this is not the case.
Obviously, eating less nutritious food all the time will not be beneficial for your health in the long run.
But, eating ‘clean’ all the time and restrict certain food groups can be just as harmful.
It was Osho who said, essentially:
“Every time I meet a pr******te, she wants to talk about God.
& Every time I meet a priest, he wants to talk about sex.”
What he meant by this is that what you deny yourself can become your new prison.
If you keep yourself deprived of certain food groups, it is just a matter of time before you will start craving the forbidden fruit more and more.
Therefore, instead of striving for perfection it is important to find a balance. I believe that this balance can be found by applying the 80/20 rule, which simply means that 80% of your foods should come from sources that are beneficial for you health and 20% of the foods can be the so-called fun foods.
This way you can still enjoy life and reach your goals.

Your health doesn't just revolve around what you eat or how often you exercise.
It is also about what you watch, what you read or whatever you choose to be influenced by throughout the day.
Be mindful of the things you put into your body emotionally, spiritually and physically. ❤️

⚖️Waarom je NIET moet stressen om het nummertje op de weegschaal.
⚡️De meest bekende manier om progressie tracken is door middel van een weegschaal. Het nadeel van alleen een weegschaal te gebruiken is echter dat het getal dat je op de weegschaal ziet staan niet je vetpercentage is. Het getal dat je op de weegschaal ziet staan, is een opsomming van vocht, spiermassa en vet en kan behoorlijk fluctueren, vooral als vrouw zijnde.
Er kunnen zoveel redenen zijn waarom je in een dag bent aangekomen die niks met vettoename te maken hebben
🍱Zo kan je bijvoorbeeld meer sodium of koolhydraten hebben gegeten de dag ervoor waardoor je meer vocht vasthoudt;
💊Of misschien houd je wel vocht vast door bepaalde anticonceptie of andere medicatie, of moet je juist ongesteld worden;
🤰Of in the worst case heeft je Tinderdate je zwanger gemaakt (maar laten we daar niet vanuit gaan).
💩Of je bent simpelweg nog niet naar de wc geweest lol.
💋Kortom, in de meeste gevallen is er geen reden om te stressen als je van de ene op de andere dag bent aangekomen!
