So, last week I convinced my whole family - even Chris and Liam 🙂 - to dress up and take Christmas family pictures at Embassy Suites in Brunswick! My friend Annaliese created a nonprofit that we all can support by taking some Christmas pics with her. As you can see the backdrops are so much fun and the photos come out looking amazing. Once upon a time Annaliese and I had this magical bookworm photoshoot, which was fun, if maybe a little scary. Because yeah, this is a real falcon :). I think I warmed up to him after a while, but I was pretty apprehensive at first ha ha! And by the way, did I already mention that I would never be able to share my story in so much color and detail if not for Annaliese? She says I am her muse, but I don't know... Maybe who really matters is the observer behind the lens :). In any case, I am beyond excited because in 2 weeks, Annaliese and I heading over to NYC - and oh my, I just can't wait to see what we will get up to up there!! New York City, here we come ;). Last summer our family went on this epic road trip around American Southwest - so epic that even a middle-of-the-night trip to ER and a rather bothersome kidney stone didn't stop us from completing it. As a matter of fact, everything about this trip was magical and transformative, just like the area itself :).
So, if you are thinking about visiting the American Southwest, I tried to compile all the tips from our trip there, and I have also included the itinerary that my husband Chris had put together (Chris is really- really - good at it. I have no idea how he does it, to be honest with you 🙂.)
This video covers 3 days of our 14-day trip and highlights Mesa Verde National Park, Albuquerque and Petroglyph National Monument, as well as Santa Fe.
This is what we loved the most about this part of our road trip:
1. Nativo Lodge in Albuquerque was really cool - https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60933-d92786....
2. Old Town Albuquerque is definitely worth a visit! We loved having breakfast there and then checking out multiple art and souvenir shops that dotted the romantic and curvy streets.
3. Mesa Verde is a huge park, but it is definitely worth checking out. You almost feel like you are in the Caribbean when you are there - https://www.nps.gov/meve/index.htm!
4. The hike at the Petroglyph National Monument was a beast, but a very unforgettable beast nonetheless! The vista opening up from the top is absolutely spectacular, and the petroglyphs are very well-preserved 🙂. https://www.visitalbuquerque.org/.../petroglyph.../900/

One of the best ways to say bye-bye to the work week and "Hello, weekend!" if you live in the Golden Isles is to have a drink and dance your heart out at the Reid's Apothecary's Study! Two weeks ago, we had a blast rocking out to Hot Banana Coffee, and this Friday we are looking forward to having the time of our lives with Defunk :). Oh, and a little bird told me that Golden Isles Belly Dance 2 is planning to make an appearance. Fun, fun, fun - all around! Who is coming with us?
