Un día como hoy hace 6 años publicaba el videoclip de protagonizado por Brendan Mcgowan y dirigido por Zev Deans nos mostraba a un pastor que hacía de las suyas en su iglesia. Su director le comentó a Metal Injection: A pesar del origen sueco de Ghost, estuvimos de acuerdo en que el movimiento evangélico estadounidense era la estética perfecta para inspirarnos, y comencé a inspirarme en algunos de los rincones más oscuros de la historia reciente. Todo el mundo está familiarizado con Jim Jones, pero yo me encontré fascinado con un líder de una secta evangélica menos conocido, llamado Tony Alamo, director de Alamo Christian Ministries. Después de 30 años de poder sin control, Alamo fue sentenciado a 175 años de cárcel por varios delitos.

Tony Alamo murió literalmente un día antes de que comenzáramos a filmar nuestras escenas en una iglesia en Detroit. No me di cuenta de esto hasta después del rodaje, cuando mi cómplice Brendan McGowan me avisó y eso provocó un escalofrío inquietante en la columna vertebral de mi equipo, ya que estuvimos escuchando su música a todo volumen durante todo el fin de semana mientras hacíamos este video.

Todo el fin de semana estuvo bañado por el resplandor de la buena suerte y las personas con las que tuve el privilegio de trabajar aportaron una energía a este proyecto que hizo que fuera tan fácil alcanzar la grandeza. Es como si el fantasma de Álamo entrara en el cuerpo de y pudiéramos canalizar la locura, la frenética euforia de la fe que resuena en la comunidad evangélica.
