A bit of what I do on my free time, when I'm not busy with FutureSeeds. Lucky the Byron Theatre has a grand piano 😉
Our world is facing multiple emergencies. We need to start thinking about the solutions that are available to us today. How can we accelerate a positive change for our future? And for that, we need:
🌐 Economy: how we produce and exchange goods and services, the ways we accumulate wealth, and what we invest in
🌐 Ecology: how we take care of our environment and prepare for both natural and man-made changes
🌐 Democracy: the way we make decisions collectively
Join us on Wednesday 26th May 2021 for an evening of reflection on our future, with four experts in ethical economics, localization, socio-ecological resilience and democracy presenting their work and ideas:
✨ Helena Norberg-Hodge, Pioneer of the local economy movement, world-renowned environmentalist, founder of Local Futures and author the award-winning documentary "The Economics of Happiness"
✍️ Presentation: "The Fork in the Road Post-Covid"
✨ Kyle Redman, Senior design and research manager at the NewDemocracy foundation and co-author of the United Nations Handbook "Democracy beyond elections"
✍️ Presentation: "Democratic lotteries: imagine being represented by people like you"
✨ Jean Renouf, founder of Resilient Byron and lecturer in International Relations and Politics at the Southern Cross University
✍️ Presentation: "Community transformation in times of the Great Unravelling"
✨ Mara Bun, Director at Australian Ethical Investment and President of the Australian Conservation Foundation
✍️ Live Interview: "Investing in the Good"
