FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with a heavy heart we announce the loss of our colleague RONALD MWELWA who was involved in a road traffic accident in the early hours of 18th September 2022. He was a 4th history major as he was waiting to graduate in the upcoming graduation, he was a humble and social person and always kept a smile. He will be buried today in his hometown of Chipata. Lets remember to put his family in prayers and pray for his soul.

As of this morning no guild member has approached or inboxes the admins of this page. Students still continue to voice out in our inbox.

Facts are:
1. Nkrumah has approximately 14 thousand students, let's say approximately 8 thousand are accommodated by the school, when calculations are done 70 x 8,000 = 560,000. Then 560,000 × 3 terms = 1680, 000. That is a huge amount that when used properly can change the lives of every student at Nkrumah.

2. Why not deposit the money into the students accounts as a way of returning the favour, it will help to ease up on the different challenges that students face with finances, a little goes along way.

3. Online registration still remains an issue for students who pay union fees and are still owing the institution, the union has sat with management several times it has failed to convince management to consider the less privileged.

4. Term 3 will be full of riots, the union and its leadership will spark riots within campus as students feel not represented. The only way to get the attention of management is by rooting and involving the media.

5. A private audit of this years financial ledger is requested. Moses Mubuyeta, Augustine Lungu and Kameya Wilson you have spoken for the students of late, find an auditor to audit the finances.

6. Misuse of public funds is a crime and the police can be involved in this to help with investigations.

KWAME NKRUMAH STUDENTS CRY FOUL OVER USAGE OF UNION FEES
As the university reopens for term 3, and with the incoming freshmen expected in June, many questions are asked about the current union and its transparency over the mandatory union fees that all students are expected to pay in order for them.to be accommodated in the university.
- Last term the Union president and his cabinet failed to convince the student populace over how it uses the funds recieved from the students. Details reaching us is that, last term the finance minister stated that the previous 2017 intake left a considerable amount of money in the account of which it was later discovered that some of the money was missing from the account and could not be accounted for by the current finance minister the meeting was later adjourned.
- To add salt to the wound, students who are sponsored by the HELSB are now also expected to pay union fees? This has never happened in the history of the university. This puts the vulnerable students at a disadvantage as not all are able to pay the union fees, HELSB pays all fees for students it sponsors including tuition, accommodation and union fees.
- Students are still experiencing challenges with online registration at the university, the union has been promising to help students but they have proved themselves to be "toothless dogs" as students have had challenges accessing online services such as moodle, as a result majority of students have not handed in their course work in their different courses which may lead them to fail the course.
- Where does all this money go to and how does the union put it into use, such are the questions on every students mouth.
I challenge the President and his Finance minister to adequately explain how the money is used by the union. Students have the right to know how the money is being used as no visible usage can be pointed out.
The union president and the finance minister must get in touch with any of our admins and explain these claims by the students.

KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY PROTESTS

4TH Year students spearheading the protests as management has been forced to make changes that the students are protesting for.

The students have pressured management and changes are being made right now, fees will be reduced and students owing the schools will be able to register online without any penalty fees.

The police only became calm when a permit was produced to their officer in charge, they watched as the students sang, danced and marched around campus and gathered at the admissions office where Senate officials were having their meeting, as the Dean, Police officer in charge and the union president addressed the students after the meetingwas concluded.

We are expecting an update from management by 17:00 today. We thank the unions for representing us in the meeting.

The power of the media is real, results were released and published on all student portals hours after the short article was published by our reporter, one of the Officials called our editor to take down the post but could not agree on certain terms. We appreciate the swift action taken by management.

HOW ARE PEOPLE CHECKING THIER RESULTS WHEN RESULTS HAVEN'T BEEN RELEASED.
What's happening to Nkrumah ICT department
It has been found that full time students in various years have been given access to their results by ICT even when results have not been officially published for all students on their students portals.
Results are being posted by students in different WhatsApp and Facebook student groups.
Alot of questions arise from this development of the reasons why the results have been delayed. Is it a deliberate move or it's a planned move.
Management should see to this action because it is not the correct work ethic.
