Pakistan's IT Minister, Umar Saif, has announced that the country will launch 5G within 10 months. Saif made the announcement during a press conference in Islamabad.
Saif said that the government has already awarded the contract for the 5G spectrum and that the rollout will begin soon. He said that 5G will revolutionize the way Pakistanis communicate and do business.
5G is the fifth generation of cellular network technology. It offers much faster speeds and lower latency than previous generations of cellular networks. This will make it possible for people to stream high-definition video, download large files, and play online games with ease.
Saif said that the government is committed to making Pakistan a digital economy and that 5G is a key part of that plan. He said that the government is also working to improve the country's digital infrastructure, such as its fiber optic network.
