People have been asking me about the potential ban on TikTok and here is my take.

Yes- there is a good chance that TikTok is being shut down in the USA.

This is why I always suggest that business owners be on multiple platforms. There is no way to know if they will be around forever (remember MySpace?).

People who put all of their time into TikTok and did not set up shop elsewhere will scramble to find new homes for their content. YouTube and Instagram are going to pick up much of the business, whereas newer platforms like RedNote may pick up those who are dead set against using Meta.

RedNote is also owned by a Chinese company so I would avoid it as its future will be unknown in the USA.

What does this all mean for business owners trying to grow their online presence? Social Media isn't going away, just one platform for it. Your audience will still be there, just in another space. If you aren't on at least Instagram or YouTube shorts, I highly recommend getting started as soon as possible. YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world (next to Google), if you have a lot of video content it is a no-brainer to be there.

No, your business may not be affected by this TikTok ban and you may not care or understand the ramifications. However, there are millions of users on the platform who earn income from selling their products and promoting their services.
Imagine if this happens with the NextDoor App, Facebook or Instagram? Think of all of your reviews lost, followers and customers gone, all of your content...poof!

This is a good reminder that if you rely on social media (like so many millions of businesses do), rethink your strategy and be ready for anything. Be on at least 2 platforms regularly, be consistent with your content and have an email list!

An email list is something that you own and is an asset to your business. You have the ability to stay in touch with your customers quickly and easily and that list is YOURS-it can't be deleted by the powers that be.

Are you affected by the ban? What strategies are you working on to get through it?

Creating content for your business doesn't have to be painful. With a strategy in place and a shift of your mindset, you can create thoughtful posts that will speak to your audience and build a community that will support your business.

Why is it important to have an online presence?

Social Media is being used more and more as a search engine. People search for services, gift ideas, restaurants near by and more.

If you aren't putting time into your Social Media platforms you will get left behind.

I'm not saying to stay up to date on the latest TikTok dance trends-unless of course, you run a dance studio. Creating a few posts a week answering questions of your audience, engaging with other local businesses, and responding to comments on your feed can be done easily with the right strategy in place! And you don't have to shake it till you make it for the algorithm.

Let's get your content strategy ready for 2025 🥳

I am offering Free consultation services through the New Year to help you improve your online presence. DM me "strategy" and I will send you a link to my calendar so we can set up a half hour consultation session. I will help you come up with a clear and concise plan for 2025 that will make posting less stressful.

Don't Hire a Social Media Manager

Unless You're Ready to Do This ⬇️

Are you thinking about hiring a Social Media Manager?
Here’s the truth: we can’t work our magic without YOU. For a social media manager to be truly effective, you need to:

➡️ Define Your Goals: What do you want to achieve? More leads? Brand awareness? Sales? A clear direction helps us create a winning strategy.

➡️ Share Your Vision: Help us understand your business inside out by being clear about your brands voice, mission and style.

➡️ Communicate Often: Collaboration is key! Be ready to provide updates, approve content, and share behind-the-scenes insights that only you can offer.

➡️ Invest in Your Strategy: Social media isn’t free marketing. A budget for ads, quality visuals, or tools amplifies our efforts to get you the results you want.

➡️ Be Patient and Consistent: Rome wasn’t built in a day...and neither is a thriving social media presence. It can take a while to organically grow your following and get good engagement- and that's okay! You want to have a real and authentic presence to build trust with your audience.

Hiring a Social Media Manager can really benefit your business by bringing fresh ideas, a good strategy and maintaining a consistent online presence.

Did you know that there are different types of Facebook accounts??

If you are trying to build a business, make sure that you are utilizing the right one, or your ability to grow your audience will suffer.

**1. Personal Profile**
👤 *Who it's for:* Individuals
🔍 *Description:* Designed for personal use, connecting with friends and family. This is where we look at all of the fun cat memes.
⚠️ *Limitations:* Not ideal for business promotion, as it lacks analytics and advertising tools, meaning you can’t check the progress of your growth. You are only allowed 5,000 “friends” so this will truly stunt your business from growing.

**2. Business Page**
🏢 *Who it's for:* Businesses, brands, organizations
🔍 *Description:* Tailored for promoting your business and engaging with customers.
📈 *Benefits:* Enhanced reach through ads, insights on audience engagement, and the ability to interact with customers directly. This is a must for serious businesses looking to grow!

**3. Professional Page**
💼 *Who it's for:* Freelancers, entrepreneurs, and creatives
🔍 *Description:* Similar to a business page but more focused on individual branding and showcasing your work.
✅ *Pros:* Great for establishing a personal brand and networking.
❌ *Cons:* May not have all the features of a dedicated business page, like advanced analytics.

**4. Facebook Group**
👥 *Who it's for:* Communities and interest-based groups
🔍 *Description:* A space for members to engage in discussions around a shared interest or goal.
🌐 *Benefits:* Fosters a sense of community and loyalty among members. However, it’s more informal and doesn’t replace a business page's promotional capabilities.

At the end of the day I highly recommend that if you are serious about growing your business- create an actual Facebook Business Page. The best part- its FREE to create (unless you choose to run ads which we will discuss in another post) and you can create and nurture your community to help your business thrive!

Choosing the right type of Facebook account can have a significant impact on your business’s success!

Happy Wednesday!

With the holidays quickly approaching I wanted to share some strategy ideas to help your business.

-If you are selling products start using festive, visual content. Update your graphics, show holiday themed scenes and use holiday music in your reels.

-User generated content! Gift a product to an influencer with thousands of followers that is in your niche. Ask that they do an unboxing video and tag your business. Bonus if they do a story! Why is this a good tip? This person promoting your product has thousands of followers that trust this person with their product choices. This opens the door for more sales for you.

-Set expectations with your shipping times. Keep your audience updated on how fast items will be delivered before the Holidays.

-Promote a sale or a giveaway. This is a great way to grow your audience by encouraging those that follow you to tag and share your content.

-Don’t forget to show support for other businesses this time of year. Share content, engage in posts and be a cheerleader for other small businesses who will likely return the favor.

If you are a business owner trying to grow on social media remember this:

You are not trying to be an influencer, you don’t need millions of views to be successful. You want to be creating quality content that provides value to your audience. Show them your authentic self and what you do.

Show your audience that you are the best in your field by giving advice, teaching what you know and entertaining them.

Engage with others in your community and be the business that lifts others up.

You’ve got this!

If you need help getting started or are feeling stuck I will help you create a strategy that will help you grow.

Free consultation calls are available for November and December.

Feeling overwhelmed with your content creation?

Let’s be honest, constantly creating fresh, engaging content for your business can feel like a full-time job! Between balancing everyday tasks and staying up-to-date with social media trends, it’s easy to hit content creation overload!

Here are some tips to help you avoid that frustration!

💻Repurpose Your Existing Content📱
Why reinvent the wheel every time? Take your best-performing posts and give them a fresh spin! Turn a popular blog into an infographic, transform an old Instagram post into a Reel, or compile a series of tips into a newsletter. The possibilities are endless!

📆Create a Content Calendar📅
Planning ahead takes the stress out of last-minute scrambling. A monthly or weekly content calendar will help you stay organized and ensure you have a consistent flow of posts without the burnout. Try tools like Trello or Google Calendar to get started!

🔍Find Inspiration from Your Audience🔎
Check out what your audience is talking about in the comments or messages. Do they ask you the same questions repeatedly? Address them in posts or videos! Listening to your audience gives you endless content ideas that are relevant AND engaging.

Pro tip- go to your competition’s socials and read their comment sections! Answer questions and be a part of the conversation.

💻Batch Create Content💻
Set aside a block of time to create multiple pieces of content at once. You’ll save time in the long run and always have something ready to post, even on those busy days!

Time Saving tip- once you create the content, schedule it to post automatically!

🌟 Outsource When You Need Help🌟

Did you know that posting consistently on social media can increase your engagement rates by up to 200% ⁉️

What does this mean? Engagement is when someone likes, comments or shares your content👀.
Remember to share the love with businesses and services that you support as well!

Why is this important? You want people to like, comment and share your content because that is what helps your page get seen by potential clients and customers.

Struggling to get organized? Create a content calendar to plan your posts in advance and keep your audience engaged! Using a simple daily planner will work, or even Google sheets.

Are you trying to get customers for your business but not using Social Media?

Maybe you have a personal Facebook account and are sharing your phone number in some groups offering services.

I’m here to say 🛑stop doing that.

Why?

Facebook isn’t just a social media platform but many people use it as a search engine to find goods and services.

Have you noticed in your local Facebook groups lately all of he scammy looking posts- someone says they are offering a mega discount on services (duct cleaning services for example). They say to send them your number and house sizes for quotes. And if you reverse search the images they often are found on Pinterest or sketchy websites.

People get numb to these types of posts and if you come along sharing your information, it’s less likely you’ll get noticed.

Instead set up your own Free Facebook business page that is optimized!
Make sure to use your business name and what you offer. Include phone numbers or email addresses that you wish to use for communication. If you have hours of operation, put those in. Add photos and videos of what you have to offer, and show your face! Showing your face will help build trust with potential customers. Post often (I’m not saying every day, at least a few times a week) to gain interest in what you’re doing.

This will help potential customers find you, and current customers share how happy they are with what you have to offer!

Don’t know how to get started? Let’s chat!
