The Current Account Deficit (CAD) declined to US $2.2 billion during the first quarter (Q1) of the current fiscal year as compared with the deficit of US $3.5 billion recorded during the corresponding period (July-September) of the fiscal year 2021-22.

The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 135.90 points, a positive change of 0.33 percent, closing at 41,944.59 against 41,808.69 points on the last working day.

A total of 230,561,335 shares were traded during the day as compared to 192,142,149 shares the previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 6.249 billion against Rs 6.

Oil prices rose in early trade on Wednesday after industry data showed a surprise drop in U.S. crude stockpiles, suggesting demand is holding up despite steep interest rate hikes dampening global growth.

Brent crude futures picked up 17 cents, or 0.1%, to $94.82 a barrel at 0014 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 26 cents, or 0.3%, to $88.63 a barrel.

North Korea launched at least one ballistic missile into the sea off its east coast on Wednesday (Nov 2), South Korea s military said.

The launch comes after Pyongyang on Tuesday demanded that the United States and South Korea stop large-scale military exercises, calling them a provocation that may draw "more powerful follow-up measures".
