*Public Notice...!!!*
The Government and Good people of Nsukka LGA, today, the 21st of September, 2021, recieved with shock and grief, the sudden death of one Late Mr. Nickolas Onyemaechi Ugwu popularly known as Nikado, a Keke Rider who was a native of Eha-Alumona in Nsukka LGA.
From preliminary investigations, it was ascertained that his death was occasioned by a brawl with two men who claimed to be collecting levy on behalf of their employer; s brawl that turned violent.
In the light of this unfortunate incident, the Government of Nsukka LGA, wishes to state thus:
1. That Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, and his Adminstration, most heartily, condoles the family of the deceased, the entire good people of Eha-Alumona and indeed, Nsukka LGA, on this unfortunate loss.
2. That the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA on hearing about the ugly incident, rushed to the scene of the incident, visited the Bishop Shannahan Hospital, Nsukka, where the body of the deceased was deposited and for three hours and still counting, have been on ground calming frayed nerves of the deceased's family well wishers and colleagues.
3. That the two suspects who are accused of causing the death of the deceased and their employer, Mr Emeka Asogwa are already in police custody and have already been moved to Enugu.
4. That contrary to rumours making the rounds, the two suspects who are accused of causing the deceased's death, are not employees of Nsukka LGA;
Recall that on assumption of office, Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, disbanded all forms of Task Forces, (Agboros), in Nsukka LGA immediately he assumed office.
5. That the two suspects are employees of one Mr. Emeka Asogwa, a contactor and a transporter;
6. That Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, has ordered the immediate suspension, till further notice, of all forms of levies, rates or duties collected from Keke Riders within Nsukka LGA
