I'm working on a story this morning, after reading Frightening Tale submissions I started to work on a new story I'm writing. I like to keep things real to help ground my tales, so when I mention places I like to go explore those places with Google Maps and the street view tool. In Cinncinati on Salem Rd... it seems someone had need of some pest control... Seems to me like there is an entire story right there waiting to be written. It's funny how we try and normalize things that are not normal... like assuming it's a 'Pest'. Perhaps the story is that fella walking back to the Van thought it was just another day at work. But this visit was going to be anything but normal. Horror can be around any corner with the right twist of mind. Once you tune yourself to it... you'll see it everywhere. I love when normal is never normal. But I digress... I need to find a diner on Salem Rd that my character can stop for a bite. ;)

Enjoy the 1933 Film... The Ghoul.

The Ghoul is a 1933 British Horror film starring Boris Karloff, Cedric Hardwicke, Ernest Thesiger and Ralph Richardson, whose debut film this was. The plot centres around a Professor (Karloff) who is to be buried with an Egyptian jewel in order to attain eternal life. When the jewel is stolen by his servant, the professor rises from the dead to reclaim it.

The film, based on the play and novel by Dr. Frank King and Leonard J. Hines, was once considered to be a lost film since the original nitrate negative had succumbed to decomposition and no prints of the film were known to exist. However, an incomplete and partly decomposed Czech release print was discovered which was the only available print for several decades. Then, finally, an excellent quality print was discovered in the archives of the British Film Institute.
