As long as you know how to use them right, hashtags can even help you reach whoever you wanna reach. Come on, ya think I'm gonna leave you hangin' without letting you know how? Of course.

Here's how to make hashtags work:

Ahuh, you read that right and keep reading 'cause Imma tell you why. Hashies don't work without the help of engagement. It's like squirting shampoo on your hair and waiting for it to lather -- all by itself! Doesn't work that way right? It needs a little rubbin' and dubbin' and doing a little more of that repetitive process every day so.that.it.works. So better start liking, sharing, and commenting on other pages' posts so that your hashtags research won't go to waste. (HMMMM. Wondering how to do effective engagement? Don't worry, of course I'll make a post explaining that in detail. wink *wink)

Also use hashtags that are not only generally related to your post but specific to it.
πGot an image of an apple on your post? Hashtag that. Remember that IG uses image recognition so if you may have not been doing this, you better start on your next post.
πUse a combination of small (0-250k posts), medium (250k-500k posts), and large (500k and above) sizes of hashtags. Using large hashtags doesn't assure that you'll reach a significant number of audience.
Try it; use large hashtags ONLY.
There's one thing I can assure you, it'll be hard to reach your audience.

Search if the hashtag is banned or not. Sucks, right? Well the gram does that, unfortunately. One banned hashtag added to your list can drag down all your effort so watch out.

Create a sub-topic for every general hashtag that you have. For (general), think of or search for a much more specific topic under this. Let's say, . Have a few of the specifics and don't forget to list them down so you won't have to redo all the searching every time you create a post.
