WELSH HIGHLAND HERITAGE RAILWAY PRESENTS 'FUN AT THE FARM' - THIS WEEKEND! (Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June)

There will be a conglomeration of heritage diesel locomotives, some of which you can even drive yourself! Become the 'driver for a fiver' on Gertrude at Porthmadog (WHR) Station, drive the Ruston diesel 'Glaslyn' and drive the world famous loco Russell from Porthmadog (WHR) to Pen Y Mount Junction on Saturday evening for just £20!

After an incredible turnout last year, Macclesfield Festival returns at Priory Park on 21st July 2018, with an even bigger and better lineup for the whole family. Acts include Hacienda Legends, Happy Mondays and kid’s TV favourite Mr Bloom. The event is put together by local residents and is a family friendly fun packed day for all ages. Opening at 10am with a huge firework finale later in the evening. Children can be entertained with: Andrew Green’s magic show, princess, superhero and dance shows, golf courses, zorbing, funfair, nerf shooting, face painting, arts & crafts, pony trekking, soft play, plus the fantastic Star Wars themed costumed entertainers

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!

Can you spare a few hours a week to help make a real difference? If so, do something amazing and help a child to learn!

Passion for Learning is a charitable organization, committed to enthusing children about learning. Their volunteers help children aged 4-11, with books, games and activities to increase skills and develop confidence. Their work is full of imagination and fun - they want to make children curious about their world and keen to find out more. Their volunteers either go into school during the day, spending time 1:1 with selected children, or support at their weekly after school Enrichment Clubs as part of a volunteer team. It is a hugely rewarding experience and fits flexibly around volunteers’ commitments.

From the 1st through to the 30th June, Chester's Storyhouse will present a brand-new stage version of the classic children's stories Swallows and Amazons. Expect puppets, song, dance and of course boats! Storyhouse is a relaxed venue and welcomes children of any age and is the perfect space to introduce them to theatre!
