Hello! Jen here (founder/editor)! I'm currently running a crowdfunding campaign to fund the video/audio recording of my Duet for Flute and Cello called "The End of Torpor"

If you like my project The Emerald Ruby and or have enjoyed some of the tracks we've reviewed, please consider contributing! I'm currently at $850/$1095 (which is the base level of funding I need to reach as this is an all or nothing campaign. My stretch goals are $1560, $2060 and $4060 respectively) You can find out more in the video!

Did everyone catch “That tweet” by ? We certainly did! What was supposed to be a funny jab at their audience sparked a wildfire highlighting ageism and fears surrounding growing older as musicians.

There is a very real issue of mainstream media ignoring older artists who aren’t super famous (tm), especially if they’re new to “the scene”.

We’re brining you a list of musicians who are making the good sounds! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1xBuiePMumI9Qi8z5A4sPd?si=3e43bc688f4d4677

Please do share this post around - We’d love these artists to find some new ears outside of They Don’t Know What You Want’s immediate circle

Here are the artists from PART 1. Do go check them out!

Horns & Halos latest track "Rain it Down" has been one of my favourite tracks of 2020. It's filled a music hole in my brain that hasn't been filled by anyone since Panic! At The Disco's very first album (which, if you've known my journey with recorded music, is one of the highest compliments I can give ;) ) Read the full post below

In the spirit of and transparency, I thought i'd share a little about what's been going on behind the scenes here.

This is the first time in about a month I have had the time and energy to actually work on the site. Here in NSW, it seems the majority of the population is playing the role of 'everything is normal'. This just isn't the case for me. Covid is still causing weekly changes in my job, hours of unpaid admin and 3 hours a week of squeezing in zoom music teaching during time I don't actually have.

When my rent paying job is online, I simply can't do my creative work, because for me, one hour of online work takes 5 hours worth of energy.

I don't want to drop the ball on this site. It's really important to me, but at the end of the day, this ball is made of plastic, not glass, so it wont shatter if I have to drop it for a little while.

"You guys were everywhere while you launched and now you're super quiet" I hear my internal monologue say.

We're still here, we're still new, we're still totally keen on this, but just after launch, Jen (aka, head of looking after the inbox/rallying the troops) burnt out super hardcore.

We'll be back soon

Live now on the blog, Joe Gould's review of Fingermae's latest release
