The State Lawmaker Representing Dikwa in the Borno State House of Assembly Muhammad Zakariya Dikwa received Covid-19 vaccine today.
..The Hon Member Representing Dikwa in the Borno State House of Assembly Alh Muhammad Zakariya Dikwa has received his first dose of Astrazeneca Covid-19 vaccine today in his resident New GRA, Maiduguri.

While speaking after he has successfully taken the vaccine, the lawmaker call on the people of Dikwa in particular and Borno State in general to take the vaccine as it is safe. He also maintained that he will contribute his quota towards protecting the people of Dikwa and Borno State in general.

His Royal Highness the Shehu of Dikwa Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim El-kanemi has attended the 12th general meeting of the National Council of the Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) which has been taken place in Kano state yesterday.

The imperative of the meeting was the role of traditional rulers in peace,unity, development and advocacy for a successful Covid-19 vaccination and prevention.

How Zulum stopped convoy along Monguno to lift 12 women fetching firewood

It was on Monday evening when Zulum's motorcade was moving to Monguno in northern part of the state.

About 12 young girls standing by the road side while the motorcade moves slowly. Suddenly on spotting the young children, Governor Zulum ordered the convoy to stop.

All of us wondering what could have made the Governor stop the convoy bearing in mind the dangers associated in stopping at the road known for Boko Haram activists.

Then the Governor zoomed out of his official car and headed straight to where the girls stand, he asked what they have come to do at this place, about 15km to the twon of Monguno.

They were fetching firewood, which serves as source of energy to devastated local residents whose livelihoods were denied as a result of the over decade long insurgency.

Governor Zulum ordered to give the little girls a lift back to Monguno, there firewood was equally conveyed on another vehicle.

Borno Assembly passes confidence vote on Zulum, sends security after impeachment mischief

Borno State House of Assembly on Friday passed a vote of confidence on Governor of the state, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, putting to bed, a mischievous online publication which falsely claimed rift between the assembly and the governor.

Speaker of the Assembly, AbdulKarim Lawan announced the resolution on Friday at a special meeting held at the assembly complex in Maiduguri, during which members of the assembly, took turns to speak highly of Governor Zulum outstanding performance with series of government projects sited in their constituencies.

The Speaker implied that the lawmakers were surprised when they saw a online medium reporting the house had contemplated impeaching Zulum that is today considered a role model of leadership all over Nigeria.

“The house has passed a vote of confidence a in the leadership style of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum. Ordinarily, the house would not have responded to that malicious report but we felt we should speak in order to avoid innocent members of the general p***c being misled to believing that totally false story especially considering the fragile security of our state and also the giant strides
recorded by Professor Babagana Umara Zulum’s administration in all sectors of the economy. Fact is that we have very cordial and harmonious working relationship between all arms of the Borno State Government. There was never any problem let alone so called attempt motive to remove our hardworking Governor who built and accelerated people's confidence in governance. The house totally dismiss that news publication, we commend the mainstream media and reputable online media organizations for ignoring that mischief and we strongly call on relevant security agencies to bring to book, the perpetrators of that malicious news report” Speaker Lawan said.

Our correspondent reports that a largely unknown online medium reported on social media that the assembly had attempted impeaching Zulum weeks back, in what many considered a political to stir controversy in Borno and heat up the polity, especially since the cordiality between Zulum and the state assembly members is public knowledge.

Dikwa LGA Chairman Received Covid-19 Vaccine Today.

The Executive Chairman of Dikwa Local Government Hon Muhammad Alh Gumsama has received his first dose of Astrazeneca Covid-19 vaccine today.

The chairman who was accompanied by some staff of Dikwa Local Government emphasised that Covid-19 is real and we must strictly adhere to all the preventive measures.

The chairman finally called on his people to avail themselves to get vaccinated as the vaccine is safe not harmful.

His Royal Highness, The Shehu of Dikwa Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim El-kanemi honoured the invitation of Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA) to Commemorate its establishment in 1921 and also to recieve an award in honour of his late father, Shehu Umar ibn Ibrahim El-kanemi who was also an alumni of the college.

The event is to discuss Barewa college at it's centenary: past present and future. Key things were celebration lecture, dinner and recognition award.

Scholarship Update!

Earlier this Friday, Hon. Muhammad Gumsama, has paid fees to the 300 indigenous Students of Dikwa LGA at Government Girls College GGC & Yerwa Secondary School Maiduguri.

Hon Muhammad Gumsama the Executive Chairman Dikwa LG has paid WAEC & NECO registration fees to 300 Female's indigenous students at the across the state.

in his efforts of improving education sector the Executive Chairman, was last week paid WAEC&NECO fees to Secondary School Youths, and today GGC & Yerwa, Female's Students he has done a lot of things in the sector.

Hon. Muhammad Gumsama on his remarks, the Executive Chairman said Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world and if you want to build a nation educate the youths.

And this makes it first in the history of Dikwa local government.
