African history can be repetitive sometimes, but Queen Amina of Zazzau's life will provide you with plenty of stories to chew on. Queen Amina was a Hausa warrior queen who ruled over the city-state of Zaria in modern-day Nigeria.

Queen Amina was born in the town of Birnin-Zazzau in 1533. (now in Northern Nigeria). Her father ruled the Hausa city-state of Zaria, and her mother was a princess from another city.

Both parents were Muslims who wanted to provide a good education for their daughter. They sent her to Sokoto to live with her grandmother, where she learned to read and write Arabic. She also learned about important Islamic customs and stories about powerful Muslim women in history such as Khadija (Muhammad's first wife) and Fatima (Muhammad's youngest daughter) while living with her grandmother.

She was trained in traditional warfare and became a great warrior before she reached adolescence. After her parents died in or around 1566, Amina's brother ascended to the throne of Zazzau.

Amina had distinguished herself as a "leading warrior in her brother's cavalry" and gained notoriety for her military abilities by this point. When her brother died, Amina, then 43, ascended to the throne of Zazzau.

She expanded Zazzau's territory with the aid of her military prowess, taking it north to Kano and south to the Niger River's mouth. Because new trade routes were established as a result of these military victories and because conquered areas had to pay tribute, they greatly increased prosperity. During her military campaigns, she is credited with constructing walls around both the city of Zaria and her military camps. "Amina's walls" refers to the mud walls that surround cities. Amina is also credited with starting the kola nut cultivation in the territory she commanded.

Even though she was never married and had no children, traditions claim that she once took a man from the opposing side after a fight, spent the night with him, and then killed him the next morning to prevent him from telling any tales.
Although the precise cause of Amina's death is unknown, Legend states that she passed away during a military operation in Nigeria's Atagara region, close to Bida.

Blond hair is a quite uncommon genetic trait, and while blonds have long been linked with whites, the Melanesians of the Solomon Islands are one of the few blond populations outside of Europe.

Five to ten percent of the dark-skinned islanders have stunning golden hair. It appears to be more common in children than in adults, with hair darkening as the individual ages. This bolstered the theory that black Africans were the first Homo sapiens and that all other races came from them.

However, for a long time, it was assumed that this blond phenotype was induced by prolonged sun and sea exposure. Other theories claimed that blond hair was passed down by European traders and explorers over the ages. www.socializeafrica.com

The Dinka are a South Sudanese ethnic group known for their incredible height.
They are thought to be Africa's tallest people. The Dinka are a Nilotic tribe who live in South Sudan along the Nile, from Jonglei to the Ngok Dinka region.
The kingdom of Alodia a Christian, the multi-ethnic empire ruled by Nubians that existed in the Gezira (modern-day Sudan), is said to have been a place where the Dinka originated.
They are South Sudan's largest ethnic group and one of the three tribes that are believed to be the first settlers.
The Dinka tribe spread across the region in the middle of the 1800s after defending their territory from Ottoman Turks and thwarting slave traders' attempts to sell them into slavery in order to convert them to Islam.
According to the 2008 census, the Dinka made up about 18% of South Sudan's 4.5 million population. Because they primarily practice traditional agriculture and pastoralism, the Dinka people are known as Sudan's most renowned livestock farmers.
They value cattle farming not only for food and economic benefit but also as an indicator of wealth and power. The Dinka are currently regarded as the tallest people in the world, according to numerous analyses of historical height data comparisons and cuisine. Their high-calorie diet is dominated by dairy, grains, and meat.

Did you know that this man is the wealthiest person who has ever lived...

In 1324, the city of Cairo was taken by storm by one of the most incredible sights its citizens had ever seen. Thousands of African soldiers, courtiers, slaves, traders, and scholars embellished in gold marched through its streets.

Horses and camels with gold leafing on their fur drew vast sums of riches, which were given to the poor and traded for goods. Because so much gold was distributed, the Cairo economy crashed and would not recover for ten years. Mansa Musa, the ruler of Mali's west African empire, led this march.

His massive entourage had trudged across the Sahel for over 3,000 miles. On his journey to Mecca, the ruler made an important stop to forge alliances with the region's rulers, the Mameluke sultans, the best to break the Muslim overlords of the Maghreb's chokehold on Malian trade.

Musa was obviously trying to dazzle. He had a 60,000 entourage with him. Up to 18 tonnes of pure gold transported by camels and horses were distributed to everyone that Mansa Musa encountered along the way.

According to reports, during the course of the next ten years, the price of gold in the region fell by as much as 25% as a result of this remarkable journey.

News of this unthinkably wealthy African ruler spread throughout Europe in the years after Musa's travels, which ultimately led to several expeditions that resulted in the most extraordinary forcible transfer of wealth ever documented as well as trade, slavery, and the scramble for Africans and Africa.

Musa's arrival in Cairo was "remembered by virtually no one but the historians of medieval Africa," and merits recognition as one of the most significant events in the formation of the modern World.

Here is Queen Gudit, who destroyed churches and monasteries throughout the Roman Empire.

She ruled Damot in the tenth century a kingdom that still exists in modern-day Ethiopia.

She is said to have been related to the Sidama people of Ethiopia by theories of her origin. Some people state that she was Jewish and that she was connected to the Sultanate of Showa as Badit, a daughter of King Maya.

She was a lovely young woman who grew up in a non-Christianized family and thus faced marginalization from Axumite evangelists for failing to convert to Christianity.

She is said to have fallen in love with a young deacon in charge of the Ark of God in the Church of Zion. She asked her young lover to bring her a piece of the Tabot's cover, where the Ark is kept, as a gift for his love. Her lover did not hesitate to bring her the piece of holy cloth from which she designed a shoe and a sharp. Gudit paraded around town in them, perpetrating disobedience or offense on the church and the Holy artifact.

The Church authorities captured her, severed her breast, and sold her into slavery in the Middle East as punishment. She was sold there to a general who fell in love with her. Her new husband was a prince named Zenobis, the son of King Sam (Syria).

Yodit later returned to Ethiopia with her husband and waged war against the Axum Empire. With the army led by her husband, she attacked the Aksum Kingdom in retaliation for the harsh treatment she had received in the past. She then proceeded to demolish several churches in Tigray and establish Hebrewism, the religion of Sheba, as a state ideology. She then ruled for 40 years, expanding Ethiopia's borders to the west and south.

Many people would look at this portrait and wonder why the man in it is admired and even worshiped as God by some ... take a hint from this

Emperor Haile Selassie was one of the last African Emperors of Ethiopia reigning between 1930 and 1974.

He was a member of the Solomonic dynasty which claims to trace lineage to emperor Menelik I believed to be the son of king Solomon and Makeda the queen of Sheba. This to believers shows the divine nature of Haile Selassie, as He is therefore related to Solomon's father King David, and therefore to Jesus.

Rastafari a sect of approximately 1 million followers worship emperor Haile Selassie as god incarnation and this is so because of one Marcus garvey prophecy "Look to Africa where a black king shall be crowned, he shall be the Redeemer".

Emperor Haile Selassie was crowned in 1930, at Addis Ababa's Cathedral of St. George, and history was written because royals from around the world attended the event including the “DUKE OF GLOUCESTER”. The Duke of Gloucester had represented the king of the British empire at the event and on meeting Haile Selassie, he bowed. This to Rastafari revealed that the new Ethiopian Emperor was more important than the most powerful man in the world (the British king).

Throughout history, Millions of Africans were stripped of their dignity forced to work for the whites, and not shared the wealth they had built. African descendants in Jamaica were pushed to the margins of society when they were told are “worthless”. So they turned to their roots, they needed hope, and here is when they learned of the badass African Emperor who resisted the Italian invasion and kept Ethiopia free. An African nation successfully resisting European power gave African-descended poor Jamaicans a lot to be inspired by and aspire to.

They regard Ethiopia as Heaven and Jamaica as Hell. They believe that Ethiopia is their homeland which they will return to. To them, Ethiopia is a home fond of memories of freedom and life prior to colonialism.

Do you think they are right to believe in the emperor's superiority leaving alone the shortcomings in his reign.... Tell us what you think and Follow for more

TEACH YOUR CHILDREN WHO THEIR TRUE HEROES ARE, Tell them that foreign invaders with guns, mirrors, and the bible invaded their land.

Tell them that those people were received with welcoming hands however sent their great... grandfathers and mothers overseas where they were r***d, made to work for free, and subjected to brutality because of their race.

Tell your children that their great....grandfathers who were taken as slaves greatly contributed to the creation and development of the white man's land.

Tell them that their brothers and sisters were sold as trade objects by Arabs and Europeans who never showed mercy but were merciless that they did every act of indecency to their kins.

Tell them that when those days were coming to a close, the black man's land was stolen, the leaders were slaughtered, and others were cruelly jailed.

Tell them that Patrice Lumumba's sole crime was to love his country, which led to his death.

Tell them that Nelson Mandela, who was arrested, was a liberation soldier who loved his country and his people.

Tell them that Kwame Nkrumah, Gadaffi, Emperor Haile Sellasie, and many more were not twentieth-century dictators, but rather individuals who led their countries out of slavery and against the white man who had come to enslave over and take our land.

Tell them that the same people who preach the gospel of democracy took the African gold and diamonds to their countries of origin.

Your children should be taught that Africa existed prior to the invasion and had magnificent Emperors, Kings, Queens, and Chiefs who were taught to as devils to their fathers, uncles, grandfathers, and mothers.

Tell them because it is your responsibility to teach them who they truly are so that they will know where to go, who to follow, and who to believe.

The Amin Speech That Shocked The World.

On October 1, 1975, in New York, for the first time in UN history, the pan-Africanist president opted to address world leaders in an African language: the Luganda dialect.

During a visit to the United Nations, Ugandan President Idi Amin urged Americans to "rid their society of the Zionists."

In a long statement to the General Assembly presented in the presence of President Amin by his chief delegate to the UN, Khalid Younis Kinene, he claimed that the United States had been "colonized by the Zionists."

President Amin stated in a statement read by the Uganda delegate that he wanted the world to know that Africans were not just against "colonialism, neocolonialism, and Zionism," but also against hunger and other societal issues.
President Amin sat in a beige armchair on the rostrum as Uganda's chief delegate read the lengthy statement in English.
According to a translation, Amin stated that he did not want to communicate in a "foreign language," therefore he requested that his chief delegate deliver his message for him.
After the delegate read the 90minute message, President Amin stood up and delivered an improvised speech in British-accented English.

Speaking as head of the Organization of African Unity (now African Union), Uganda's President stated that the regional body will make every effort to bring the warring liberation groups in Angola together. Speaking of southern Africa, President Amin stated that if independence from "racist" countries could not be achieved peacefully, "there can be no other option except to attain freedom on the battlefield."
President Amin said that there would be no compromise with apartheid, South Africa's system of racial isolation must be buried adding that South Africa should be denied UN membership.

Furthermore, he urged the UN to "help save blood" in southern Africa by supporting the struggle for liberty and independence of black people in South Africa, southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), and SouthWest Africa ( Namibia). Following that proclamation, colonial powers fell under intense political pressure from Africans. That same year, six African states achieved independence. That is Angola, the Comoro Islands, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, Cap Verde, and Djibouti . Field Marshal Idi Amin Dada deserves credit.

He said he wanted to inform the Assembly on behalf of 46 independent African member nations that Africans are not racists and that no one should claim Africans are against whites. He criticized South Africa's "racist government," accusing it of "stealing the gold and diamonds of Africa."

The President of Uganda also called for Israel's expulsion from the United Nations and the "extinction of Israel as a state." President Amin also stated that Africa is willing to collaborate with the whole global community, including Europeans, Asians, and Americans.

The president of Uganda stated that while he personally appreciated Jews, he disagreed with Zionism. Then he praised black Americans for their contribution, stating that had they done more than any other group of people to build a great country.

The President of the General Assembly and U.N. Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim hosted a public banquet in Amin's honor the following day. a significant gathering of international diplomats. Western nations were angered by this, particularly racist Britain, which at the time gave full protection to South Africa's Apartheid dictatorship.

Did you know that Nelson Mandela and Queen Elizabeth were great friends?

Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa, and Queen Elizabeth shared a "warm friendship." In fact, they were such close friends that Nelson Mandela was permitted to breach convention and refer to the monarch simply as "Elizabeth."

He used to refer to her by the nickname "Lizzie" and, unlike other leaders, he called her directly and without any formalities. On a visit to Buckingham Palace, Nelson Mandela allegedly made fun of her weight, an unheard-of indulgence that, according to Mandela's secretary, spoke to the close relationship between the freedom warrior and the queen.

Mandela donned a suit on his first visit to Buckingham Palace in 1996, before adopting his distinctive vibrant African-inspired shirts that helped violate the tight royal strictures intended for other dignitaries when seeing the Queen.

Did you Know about Yemoja / Water Mami?
This is the story of Yemoja the original mermaid
Yemoja is/was a water deity in the Yoruba religion. She is the mother of all orishas and an orisha (god). Yemoja, who lived in the Ogun River, is said to have been a stunning goddess with hair as black as midnight and skin as brown as sweet molasses. A gorgeous necklace made of river stones mounted around her neck. Yemoja had to come to the river after her husband left on a journey never to return. In despair, she climbed to the highest peak and reached her arms up to the heavens above, seeking comfort from Olodumare.
Yemoja had so many children, and she gave them all lovely names like Orisa, Man, Woman, and Child... Yemoja was passionate about all of her children. Yemoja also enjoyed the sweet flavor of molasses just as much which was one of her favorite foods! The children who lived near the Ogun River would bring Yemoja molasses every day and pour it into the river while singing her praise song: “Yemoja Maye'le'wo, Maye'le'wo, Yemoja
Yemoja Maye'le'wo, Maye’le’wo, Yemoja” Yemoja was thrilled by this and as gratitude, she would leave presents of multicolored river stones at the bottom of old Baobab trees that were along the river's side for all the kids.
Everyone from the neighboring villages would congregate at the Ogun River during the "The Mother of Fishes" event where they would leave special offerings of fruit, molasses, and white yams.
Following that, everyone would assemble to say a special prayer in praise of the "Mother of Fishes": "It is the bird that brings good fortune to the Spirit of the "Mother of Fishes," the Orisa of the Ogun River.
The bird Aluko brings good fortune to the Spirit of the Lagoon.
The assistant to the Ogun River's Orisa.
The parrot brings good fortune to the chief of Iwo.
Children are the ones who bring good fortune from heaven to Earth.
The Great Giver of Good Things, the Great Giver of Good Things
The Great One who bestows blessings.
