Sarcophagus of Henutmehyt. Henutmehyt lived in ancient Egypt in the 19th Dynasty (about 1295–1186 BC). The layers of her coffin provide a magnificent idealised image of the dead woman, adorned with her full wig. They would have been placed one inside the other – the outer coffin is on the left, inner coffin in the centre and mummy board (placed directly over the mummified body) on the right. Her gilded inner coffin can be seen today at the British Museum in London, England.

The Ballinderry Sword is a remarkable artifact discovered in Ballinderry, Rosemount, County Westmeath, Ireland. This iron weapon, found in a bog on the site of a crannog, or lake dwelling, in 1928, is styled after Viking swords. It was found alongside other objects of Viking origin, including a longbow, two spearheads, an axe head, and a gaming board.
The settlement where the sword was found dates from between the late 9th and early 11th century. The collection of artifacts uncovered appears to fit the profile of a wealthy Irish farmer or of a local ruler. The sword's pommel is coated in a sheet of silver and consists of five distinct sections that slowly rise to a rounded tip in the middle. Below these sections is a band of silver decorated with a recessed pattern of swirls that loop around the pommel. The hilt of the sword is also coated in silver and bears the same swirl pattern as the band on the pommel. There is little doubt but that this was a very high-status object.
The blade on the sword is very wide, which is typical of Viking swords. The blade tapers to a point and is 79 centimeters long. The blade has an inscription of ULFBERHT, a Rhineland manufacturer. About 200 of these blades have been discovered as far away as Russia, suggesting that this was the early equivalent of an ‘international brand’. While the blade was imported, the hilt and pommel were made by Vikings. The upper side bears the name HILTIPREHT, which seems to connect it to a Norwegian craftsman of that name.
The find shows that the Irish were forced to upgrade their weaponry to combat the Vikings. Viking-style weapons like this sword also gave local Irish warriors' superiority in combat against other native Irish warriors. More broadly, the object and its story offers a unique glimpse into the impact that the Vikings had in transforming Irish society. The sword, which is on display at the National Museum of Ireland, Dublin is in much better condition compared to many other similar international finds.

The sword hilt from Lough Derg, Ireland, is a remarkable artifact that was discovered near Curraghmore in County Tipperary in 1988. This sword is believed to originate from the heart of Brian Boru’s powerbase, a significant figure in Irish history known for his role as the High King of Ireland. Although the sword is slightly later than Brian's time, it is a very fine example of an 11th-century sword. It is made of iron and is decorated with silver niello and copper alloy, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship of the period.

This artifact is not just a weapon, but a symbol of the era it represents. The Lough Derg Sword, as it is known, provides a tangible connection to the past, offering insights into the martial culture, artistic sensibilities, and technological capabilities of the time. Its discovery in the vicinity of Brian Boru’s stronghold suggests its possible association with the nobility of the time, who would have had access to such finely crafted weapons. This sword, therefore, stands as a silent testament to the turbulent and rich history of Ireland during the 11th century.

The Great Helm of Hans Rieter of Kornburg is a remarkable artifact from the 14th century, currently on display at the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg. This helm is a significant example of the high medieval period's armor, often referred to as the Great Helm, Heaume, Barrel Helm, Bucket Helm, or Pot Helm.

The Rieter von Kornburg family, who resided in Nuremberg since 1361, is believed to have commissioned this helm. It was likely crafted in a local armorer's yard. The helm is constructed from 18 gauge steel and features hand-painted brass effect decoration, similar to the original. It also includes a chainmail aventail for neck protection.

The design of the Great Helm evolved over time, starting as a simple cylinder of steel with a flat top that completely covered the head, with small slits for the eyes and occasionally an opening for the mouth. Later designs incorporated a rounded top to deflect or diminish the impact of blows to the head. Despite its heavy weight and restricted peripheral vision, the Great Helm offered significantly more protection than other helmets of the time, such as the Nasal Helm and the Spangenhelm. Knights typically wore the Great Helm over a chain mail hood, and sometimes the mail coif would be covered with a cervelliere, a close-fitting iron skullcap. After the initial encounter with lances, jousters would often remove the Great Helm for increased sight capability and superior agility in hand-to-hand combat.

The Great Helm of Hans Rieter of Kornburg stands as a testament to the intricate craftsmanship and the evolution of protective gear during the high medieval period.

The Geto Dacian Golden ratio ornaments/talismans are 3000 years old and were discovered in Sarasău, Maramureș County, Romania, in 1847.

Through Chemical Investigations, the artifacts were examined, and the quantity of gold in the pieces varies between 81.940% and 83.470%, while the proportion of silver is between 15.510% and 17.048%. In addition to these metals, the objects also contained trace amounts of Copper, Iron and Nickel, possibly to achieve a uniform thickness in the gold. Next, the golden ratio treasure shows three rings with open ends and 239 decorative notations that may represent the chambered nautilus sea shell. However, mathematicians confirmed that the golden ratio rectangular spiral and the nautilus spiral “simply do not match.” Nevertheless, the cross-section of the nautilus shell shows a growth pattern of chambers governed by the golden ratio.
