The overnight nurse came running at the sound of the other patient screaming. She had to sedate him to get him to calm down. When she asked him what happened once she saw the blood soaked bed next to him, all she could get out of him was "it swallowed him whole..."

The most horrific thing wasn't the collapse. It wasn't the 74 miners that were crushed or trapped. It wasn't the countless families and citizens that were shook to their roots. It wasn't what the incident and it's subsequent end for the business would do to the economy of the town. No, all that paled in comparison to what it was they found when they cleared the rubble. Knowing what those miners tapped into...it makes you wonder if the collapse was an accident...
