Hello, my name is Justin Michael Hendrix, and I’m honored to announce my candidacy for the Champaign Unit 4 School Board.
For over five years, I’ve worked as an early childhood specialist throughout the Champaign-Urbana area, gaining firsthand experience in supporting young learners and their families. In addition, I’ve been actively involved in local advocacy efforts focused on early childhood intervention and have collaborated with community stakeholders as both an organizer and child advocate to improve educational outcomes.
I believe that education is the most important foundation we can provide for our children, and maintaining the integrity and accountability of the school board is critical to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive. To move our district forward, we must prioritize what matters most—our students.
If elected, I will work diligently to bring meaningful change to our district by addressing critical issues like teacher retention, academic achievement, and early childhood education. I will champion efforts to improve literacy and expand early intervention services, ensuring that every child has the tools they need to succeed from the very beginning of their educational journey.
Together, we can move Unit 4 forward—for our students, our teachers, and our entire community. I hope to earn your support and your vote. Let’s work together for a brighter future.
