We’ve stumbled upon heaven!

We’d heard Wharton beach was a popular spot and we can tell why!

One of the most beautiful beaches we’ve visited so far. Wharton is located an hour east of Esperence and is well worth the drive!

There’s also a handful of free camps near some of the smaller, but just as beautiful beaches, along this strip which we intend to check out during the week!

📍Nullarbor Plain

My.. oh.. my.. the Nullarbor goes on forever!! We obviously didn’t do our research when we decided to take on the road.

We left our previous nights camp at Scott Bay at 10am and arrived on the other side of the Nullarbor at 12am!

There’s obviously spots to stop overnight along the way but we wanted to smash it out in one big go!

Filling up at every petrol station along the way is an absolute must. It’s at least a couple of 100km between each roadhouse.. and they’re not cheap!! 💰

The highest price for fuel we saw was around $3 per L! 🤯

In saying that.. it’s a crazy and beautiful drive that we think everyone should take on once in their lifetime 💚

Rated as one of the best free camps in QLD! 🏕

We’ve got to admit the views and amount of camping spots is pretty awesome. Our ONLY complaint... (mostly Sophie’s) is the sheer amount of sandflies!! We counted in total.. 326 individual bites on Sophie!! 🫢

Now in saying that.. it was most likely because we camped behind the hill not far from the mangroves… (oops!). 🦟

Either way we got some lovely photos and will camp on the ocean side of we pass through again! 🌴
