The Catholic Church celebrates the start of the Paschal Triduum, the holiest days of the year, on this day.

This day commemorates Jesus’s last supper with his disciples. During that meal in the upper room, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and gave them a new commandment: “Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another” (John 13:34). ©️

The outgoing Bishop Rex Andrew Alarcon visited the Parish and Shrine of St. Anthony of Padua for the 1st and 2nd Mystery of the Pilgrim. An ongoing vigil is happening now until 11:45 PM.

The youth actively participated and assisted the pilgrims.

𝐻𝑈𝑊𝐴𝐺 𝑃𝑈𝑀𝐴𝐿𝐴𝐾𝑃𝐴𝐾 𝑃𝐴𝐺𝐾𝐴𝑇𝐴𝑃𝑂𝑆 𝑁𝐺 𝑀𝐼𝑆𝐴!

This is a very important reminder to stop clapping after the Mass.

Lent is a Penitential Season, this liturgical season focuses on Silence & Reflection. By avoiding applause within and after the Mass we are given the opportunity to contemplate during the Sacred Silence and focus on our Lenten journey.

Clapping has NO liturgical significance, the greatest appreciation we can possibly give to God was already done during the Mass, therefore, additional gestures like clapping is already nonsense and it distracts us from the true purpose of this Penitential Season.

Starting tomorrow, let us discipline ourselves and avoid clapping our hands.
