Kactus Koraï Colours & sounds from the tropical side of earth.

Kactus Koraï is the fruit of a two decades friendship and musical collaboration between Pierre BRD (Puppa Elpee, Selecta, Vinylist, Promoter & Graphic Designer) and Kazdi Koba (Kaztet D aka Greg HD, Cosmic Banana DJ, MC & Producer). After many years playing Reggae influenced music together in France with their crew MASSAWA sound, life brought them to South east Asia where they soon became some of

the most active Reggae and bass music DJS in Vietnam and Cambodia. They founded WAT A GWAAN Reggae Collective in Cambodia in 2014, teaming with local crews and performing in countless venues and clubs as well as playing at and organizing some of the wildest festivals in South East Asia such as QUEST and VIBE NATION. Since then they have moved into the tropical side of the musical spectrum with their sets and launched with friends “BANANA HUSTLE” ( 2018) in Vietnam, which soon became the biggest tropical dance music night in the country. Banana Hustle was known for their wide selection of tropical grooves, from the traditional afro-caribbean beats to psychedelic voodoo rythms via the sexy pulses of tropical disco to the darker and deeper electronic tribal sounds. After thousands of hours behind the decks, and more thousands of hours digging music from all around the world along the years, it was time for Pierre BRD and Kazdi Koba to start releasing music of their own colours and sounds from jungles, lagoons, cities and cosmic universe of the musical past, present, future … and KACTUS KORAÏ was born!

We are back with some fresh tropical edit for your summer
This time we're taking you on a proper trip to a special place and time : Gwada 1992, with reworks from two of our old school Zouk favorites!

The First track is a re-edit from Alain Malespine's retro zouk classic "Lésé woulé", released in 1992 on the legendary Label Debs music, biggest exporter of french caribean musical gems since the 1959 until today, just slightly and humbly dubbed and modernised.

Same year, same paradise island, The second edit is a rework from the sweet Zouk Love song "Trop pressyon" by Chantal Djill Rhinan, from her album "Tendress" recorded with musicians from the legendary guadeloupe band (and Zouk originator) Kassav', with honey keyboard melodies and vocal harmonies from Jean claude Naimro and Jean Paul Marthely, today slightly refreshed for 2024 dancefloors by Kazdi Koba !
