I was never good with people and I never really cared. I just thought time would change that. That maybe a few years into the real world will finally get me tired of just drinking with the same circle of friends and have me open my doors a little bit wider, but that didn't happen. Maybe the goodbyes had something to do with it, but as I added years to my life, the more that I realized how silence is underrated. How most of the time, it's in the lack of sound that we find peace hearing our own heartbeats as if to remind us, "you're still here."
I learned that it's never a bad thing to have a smaller table than most as long as the people who'd sit around it know and accept the real you.
I learned that it's okay to fall in love and find contentment in the little things, like watching sunsets, while everyone else tries to be a billionaire. I get it, we only live once. But somehow, when you begin to treasure simple moments, I learned that too little can also mean too much.
