Tesla reported two new fatal crashes in Model 3 cars involving advanced driver assistance systems in the month ending October 15, the US' National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said. Tesla had previously reported 14 fatal crashes involving its Autopilot system since June 2021. The auto safety regulator has reviewed these crashes and is conducting appropriate follow-ups.

After two failed attempts, NASA has launched its Artemis 1 moon rocket. The 32-story Space Launch System rocket surged off the launch pad from the Kennedy Space Center to send its Orion capsule on a three-week test journey around the moon and back without astronauts aboard. Previous launch attempts were aborted because of fuel line leaks and other technical problems.

Pakistan's official 2023 Oscars entry 'Joyland', which is based on transgender love story, has been banned by the country's authorities, citing "highly objectionable" and "repugnant" material. University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said at least 49 overseas universities have expressed interest to collaborate with Indian universities academically. "UGC is proactively contacting these universities. Several universities are in process of preparing MoUs," Kumar added. The Supreme Court on Monday allowed Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to challenge cases against him for illegal mining. Guwahati lad Shiva Thapa added a historic 6th Asian Championships medal under his belt with a commanding victory and joined Mohammed Hussamuddin and Govind Kumar Sahani in the semifinals at the 2022 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Amman, Jordan late on Sunday. Thapa (63.5 kg) was contesting the quarterfinals against Minsu Choi of South Korea and began the bout effectively, using his quick feet and powerful jabs to assert control over his opponent.
