16-year-old Kevon Watkins was trying to play video games on Xbox in his family home in Georgia on February 2, 2018, but the internet connection was too poor.

In order to increase the speed of his internet connection, he decided to change the Wi-Fi password. He did this to block anyone else from logging on and slowing down the service while he played his games.

Kevon’s mother confronted him, but things escalated leading his older sister, Alexus to intervene. Alexus stepped in to prevent Kevon from physically attacking their mother, but he subdued her in a chokehold instead.

Despite the pleas of his younger brother and his mother, Kevon refused to release her. He held her until the police arrived, but things had already gone very bad.

Alexus had suffered brain dea*th because her brain had been deprived of oxygen for too long. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dea^d. Kevon was tried and sentenced to life imprisonment.

This story shows how an unmanaged anger problem can ruin lives.

Nigerian woman allegedly sh*t dead by her Italian husband after she reportedly filed for divorce

A 31-year-old Nigerian woman, Amenze Rita, has allegedly been sh*t dead by her husband in Italy.

Amenze was k*lled in front of her colleagues in the parking lot of Mf Mushroom, a company where she worked on Friday morning, September 10, in Noventa Vicentina.

It was gathered that the suspect, Pierangelo Pellizzar, 61, laid an ambush for the deeased at about 7:30am and shot her four times, k*lling her instantly.

After k*lling Amenze, he reportedly escaped from the crime scene aboard a grey Cherokee Jeep which was later found abandoned at his brother's house.

However, the carabinieri are currently on hunt for the suspect, who is said to armed and dangerous.

Italian media are reporting that Amenze was k*lled because she filed for a divorce after she returned from Nigeria a week ago.

It was further gathered that late Amenze arrived in Italy in 2017 through Libya and got married to an Italian man in 2018.

It’s with a heavy heart that I write you this note, knowing the amount of pain it is going to cause you.

Mum, I want you to know that I love you dearly and will ever love you. If I am given the opportunity to live again I will still choose you as my mum and our family will still be my place of birth.

But unfortunately, I know that there is not going to be any such opportunity.

Mum, I didn’t want to do this, but I was compelled by circumstances beyond my control to take the plunge.

I tried my best to pull through, but my best was not good enough. I battled alone for about thirteen months now until my strength failed me.

You and dad could not decipher what I was going through and maybe I should not blame you for that.

My one and only brother came very close to understanding what I was passing through but it was too much for his young mind to comprehend.

Mum, I know that you and dad loved me and did everything you could to prove that to me but I was not feeling loved.

You provided for me more than I even wanted, took me to places that most of my mates have not even heard of, yet despite all these my heart was longing for love.
I needed someone who would love me for who I was. I needed someone who could reach to the depth of my soul and feel the vacuum there.

The material provisions you spoiled me with could not do that. And I was alone all the while, despite the fact that we laughed together and had gist as a family.
Then came the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

Your brother, Uncle Tony who came to live with us, made me to believe that he knew exactly what my soul was longing for – companionship.
He chose to stay with me when you and dad were too busy to notice my loneliness.

He tried to keep me company when I needed someone to talk to but had only gadgets and teddy bears as my company. I was fooled to trust him and he hacked into my foolishness. And he did it perfectly and deeply.

Mum, your brother r***d me and used me as s*x toy for three whole years. I expected you or dad to notice but none of you did.
When he left our house last year I was shattered because I have grown to fill the void of your presence with his dirty deeds. I couldn’t complain because I was afraid to lose him, but when he eventually left for Canada the magnitude of the emptiness in me became too heavy for me to carry.

There are many things I would have liked to tell you but I don’t want to add to your pain so let those other torments be buried with this undignified body of mine.

Okowa Urges Buhari to Reconstitute NDDC Board

Delta Governor and Chairman of South-South Governors' Forum, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, on Thursday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to reconstitute the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) without further delay.

Speaking when he led his Akwa-Ibom counterpart, Mr Udom Emmanuel, to inaugurate roads, bridge and school projects built by his administration in Agbarho and Oleh, Okowa said it was great injustice for the Federal Government to continue to run the NDDC without a constituted board.

He stated that Niger Delta states were being taken for a ride with the running of the Commission without conforming to the laws establishing it.

The governors' chairman said that the continued agitation from stakeholders for the reconstitution of the board was germane because the region was being short-changed.

"I believe that the Governors of the South-South have spoken and we are embarrassed that after several months, the government has been unable to reconstitute the board of the NDDC.

"We believe that what is going on at the moment is not the best for our region and it's not the best for the oil-producing states.

"In the first instance, the sole administratorship is not known to law and the board has the full representation of the people and they are able to speak for their people to ensure that there is fairness, justice and equity in terms of amenities and facilities.

"I believe also that the earlier the board is inaugurated, the better for us because we cannot continue to hide under the fact that we are doing a forensic audit without inaugurating the board because the board is supposed to be forward-looking and not about the past.

"So, allow the new board to come in and when the result of the forensic audit comes, the board will still look at it and know where actions are supposed to be taken.

"We are currently being fooled and we are not happy about it; so, if people agitate, I believe they are doing so in the right direction.

"So, we call on the Presidency to listen to the call of the South-South Governors and other stakeholders from the oil-producing states and quickly inaugurate the board because we are suffering for it.

"I believe that as at today, the funds of the NDDC are not being well managed and I want to believe that they are also not accountable in the way and manner they are running the place," he said.

He added, "I call on Mr President to quickly look into the inadequacy and ensure that the board of the NDDC is inaugurated as soon as possible.

"We have been expecting the results of the forensic audit and the EFCC can take over and prosecute the fraud-related cases because those ones are not for the board to handle.

"So we cry to Mr President today to quickly inaugurate the board because it's in the best interest of the nation and in the best interest of the oil-producing states."

The Governor who had earlier inaugurated the Agbarho Orherhe Road and Bridge in Ughelli North Local Government Area approved the establishment of a secondary school in Orherhe, saying "We must continue to bring education closer to our people".

On the Oleh and Ozoro communal crisis, Okowa assured that his administration would do justice to the report and recommended of the Judical Panel of Enquiry into the clashes.

On his part, Governor Udom, commended Okowa for his outstanding accomplishments in road, education and human capital development, remarking that only governors of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-controlled states were executing projects across the country.

"If you check Nigeria today, the only people inaugurating projects are PDP states. Let each state bring out what they have done and you will be proud of what PDP governors have done in their respective states.

"I know people will say we receive so much because we are oil-producing states, but have you asked how much money we spend on constructing roads in the South-South?

"This is the real dividend of democracy because what you put on ground for the common man and everybody to enjoy is the real dividend of democracy.

"If people will have time to come and document all we have done in the region they will be amazed with what we have done even with the inflation and foreign exchange challenges.

"And, I believe that the entire community and the Isoko nation will support PDP because we stand for the economic development of the nation," he said.

"Governance is all about continuity and I must commend you because your predecessor conceived this project and you came and brought it to fruition

"When you give the people education you have exposed them to the entire world and I must commend Governor Okowa for his vision in completing this project.

"All we have inaugurated today and many more that are yet to be inaugurated is a pointer to the fact that only PDP governors are working and am proud to say that when others will say there is a casting down, we will say there is a lifting up.

"What I am seeing here today at the Emore Grammar School Oleh, is something worth emulation, good space management, easy to manage, excellent facilities with good rendition and I hope that the teachers will bring out the best out of the students so that they can compete anywhere they find themselves," Udom stressed.

The projects inaugurated were Agbarho-Orherhe road, with a bridge in Ughelli North Local Government Area and dualised Emore Road and Emore Grammar School, both in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area.

SENTENCE TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT BUT INNOCENT: EDMUND EBIWARE CRIES FOR FREEDOM.

Edmund Ebiware was convicted for foreknowledge of the October 1, 2010 Abuja bomb blasts.He was sentenced to life in prison in 2013. He has been serving his sentence under solitary confinement in various prisons. He is at most a political prisoner of conscience. He has been in jail since 2010 leaving behind a wife and children who have been suffering with no one to help. He cries he is innocent and those guilty of the crime itself have been freed.

Please do not let this travesty of justice continue any longer.The leadership of INC, IYC, MOSIEND and other groups including traditional and religious groups should please come together to move for the freedom of this our Izon brother. An injustice to one is an injustice to all.

Why Adamu Can Remain As IGP till 2023- Buhari, Malami

President Muhammadu Buhari and Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation, say the law permits Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), to remain in office until either 2023 or 2024.

Adamu, who was appointed in 2019, clocked the mandatory 35 years of service on February 1, and was expected to have been replaced by the president.
But, on February 4, President Muhammadu Buhari extended Adamu’s tenure by three months.

Maxwell Opara, a legal practitioner, in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/106/21, took the IGP to court contending that by virtue of section 215 of the Nigerian constitution and section 7 of the Nigeria Police Act, 2020, Adamu cannot continue to function as the IGP, having retired as a serving member of the force.

However, in his defence, the IGP told the federal high court that the new Nigeria Police Act gave him a four-year tenure, which would only lapse in either 2023 or 2024.
The IGP through his counsel, Alex Iziyon, argued that his tenure will lapse in 2023 if counted from 2019 when he was appointed as the IGP or 2024 if counted from 2020 when the new Nigeria Police Act came into force.
He said the provision of “section 18(8) of the Nigeria Police Act, 2020 which is that ‘Every police officer shall, on recruitment or appointment, serve in the Nigeria Police Force for a period of 35 years or until he attains the age of 60 years, whichever is earlier,’ is with due respect, inapplicable to the office of the inspector-general of police in the circumstance.”

Iziyon submitted that the IGP “is only accountable to the President of the federal republic of Nigeria and the Nigeria Police Council and this fact we submit makes his office a quasi-political office with a tenure of four (4) years pursuant to Section 7(6) of the Nigeria Police Act, 2020”.
Supporting Adamu’s position in a joint response to the plaintiff’s suit, the president and AGF said they totally adopt all points made by the IGP counsel.
Their joint response was filed by Maimuna Shiru, a lawyer in the AGF’s office.
“My Lord on the above issue, it is our position that we will be relying and aligning with the argument canvassed by the 2nd defendant’s (IGP’s) counsel as their issue two in paragraphs 1.18 to 1.49 of their written address and we shall be adopting same as ours and urge this honourable court to uphold our argument and dismiss the plaintiff’s case as same is frivolous,” the written address read in part.

They said the constitution conferred on the president executive power to “appoint serving police officer as the inspector-general of police in consultation with police council”.
Responding to the claim that the IGP is no longer a police officer, the president and AGF said neither the Nigeria Police Council nor the Police Service Commission “have disclosed any contrary fact that the 2nd defendant (IGP) is not a serving police officer”.
“The plaintiff has failed to discharge the legal burden of proof that the 2nd defendant is not a serving police officer for the purposes of extension of his tenure in office,” they said.
“That question if the 2nd defendant is still a serving police officer is a question of fact.

“That it is a fact that the Nigeria Police Act 2020 is a subsidiary legislation passed by the National Assembly.
“That it is a fact that the appointment of an inspector-general of police is by the constitution conferred on the president of the federal republic of Nigeria.”
They asked the court “to dismiss this suit and uphold our argument in support of the view that the case of the plaintiff is frivolous, unmeritorious and undeserving of the time of this honourable court’s attention”.
They also prayed that “heavy cost” should be awarded against the plaintiff.

Burna Boy's convoy bashed my car, refused to apologise - Distraught fan

A fan of Burna Boy, Samuel O, has alleged that the singer’s convoy hit his car at the Lekki area of Lagos State and zoomed off.

Samuel O made this accusation via his Twitter handle on Saturday night.

He said that he was waiting for the traffic light to turn green when the singer’s convoy came along, wanting to force him off the road.

He said one of the boys on Burna’s convoy clearly told the driver of the vehicle behind him to ram into him and he did, which left his car dented.

Tweeting videos and photos from the scene, Samuel O said, “Hi guys, good evening, convoy just hit my car at Lekki phase 1 around 8:15 PM date Saturday 6, 2021. This (is) terrible, I don't have money for RR but Burna boys told me to f**k off

“One of boys in same car with Burna said to the other convoy behind to ENTER ME which I didn't know what it meant. I tried as much as I can to even hear sorry but threats instead.

“They all drove into Vintage park estate by Chisco behind Toyota company in Lekki, which I believe they knew I have no access to the estate. Please I don't have money, I’m just a mechanic all I want is just let him acknowledge and apologise!!

“To God who made me, I was patiently waiting for the Lekki traffic lights to turn green before I move. All his convoy did was to keep blaring sirens, only tried to just move so they can move as well. Please this is a terrible moment, I’m a big fan of him but this total(ly) turns off.”

Burna Boy had yet to react to these allegations as of the time of filing this report.
