We’re the D-Day Dodgers out in Italy
Always on the vino, always on the spree.
Eighth Army scroungers and their tanks
We live in Rome - among the Yanks.
We are the D-Day Dodgers, over here in Italy.

We landed at Salerno, a holiday with pay,
Jerry brought the band down to cheer us on our way
Showed us the sights and gave us tea,.
We all sang songs, the beer was free.
We are the D-Day Dodgers, way out in Italy.

The Volturno and Cassino were taken in our stride
We didn’t have to fight there. We just went for the ride.
Anzio and Sangro were all forlorn.
We did not do a thing from dusk to dawn.
For we are the D-Day Dodgers, over here in Italy.

On our way to Florence we had a lovely time.
We ran a bus to Rimini right through the Gothic Line.
On to Bologna we did go.
Then we went bathing in the Po.
For we are the D-Day Dodgers, over here in Italy.

Once we had a blue light that we were going home
Back to dear old Blighty, never more to roam.
Then somebody said in France you’ll fight.
We said never mind, we’ll just sit tight,
The windy D-Day Dodgers, out in Sunny Italy.

Family adventure in the Isle of Skye nipped, it’s been such a nice week in the T5 exploring.

A very smart old boss of mine told me that getting Olly could be a mistake.

However so far Olly has been the best thing to happen with our little family.

To that end you keep doing you 🤌

I’ve always said I’ve hit that age now where I look at buildings and go f**k me that’s a nice building 😂

But now I’ve entered a new realm and Im absolutely in love with this art work by that I came accross by chance no thanks to who warmly welcomed me as I walked into a cool gallery (just to look to kill time)

They then shown me marks artwork and also mentioned his release night was tonight and invited me along.

Don’t even get me started on the DJ who was one of the remaining vinyl DJs instead of digital and kept the atmosphere going on the event.

Honestly from someone who has never been to an event like this it was outstanding.

4 people 100km 30 hours

We smashed it in under 24 with a time of around 23 hours

Not going to lie the last 25km really tested my pain threshold with my feet 😂

And my wonderful support team who swooped into a checkpoint with chicken nuggets,

They also thought I was going to cream in with that horrible man flu after about 30 km😂

I promise I will get some DJ content, just been busy the past couple of months literally walking for days
