Did you know that the Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong falls on the 03 June 2024 which is a Monday & it's one of the 5 compulsory public holidays under Section 60D(1)(a)(ii) Employment Act 1955?

If Employers require their Employees to work on this day, they must be paid the holiday rate of pay.

If 03 June 2024 is an official Rest Day, the working day that immediately follows the rest day must be a public holiday in substitution.

Please refer to Section 59 of the Employment Act 1955 to determine the Rest Day.

Hello year 2024! Happy New Year to all ☺️
For most of us, we begin the new year with the hope that it'll be a better year than the previous year.
Last year, I focused on stability & this year, I'll focus on growth. A series of events will take place this year & I'm excited.
To be honest, I have my own set of fears & doubts, but I hope that my post by end of the year would dispel all these fears & doubts.
Cheers to year 2024! Wishing you a year filled with new opportunities, new experiences & new achievements 😄

A bit late to post but better late than never :)
26 December 2023 was my last day at work for the year. I'll be spending the rest of the week to recharge myself.
Just to share what year 2023 has taught me:

Today marks my second anniversary with HRedge.my & I bought myself a cake to celebrate this occasion. This opened door has introduced me to the world of HR, & in the past 2 years, this door has reaffirmed my interest in HR & allowed me to discover my future career path. With a grateful heart, I am thankful for the opportunity, guidance & support given to me.
It's not easy to click the restart button after being in the (legal) workforce for more than a decade. Altho I still consider myself a "legal practitioner" as a HR Consultant (as I'm still giving advisory services on employment law matters), it remains a challenge to come out from my comfort zone & look beyond the law as & when necessary.
Sometimes all we need, is to be given that one opportunity & I'm glad that I've found it. This opened door is my stepping stone & moving forward, I wish to explore further into other aspects of HR. If you have any interesting & good HR books and/or materials for me to explore, please feel free to share :)
