Monations Day 1 has come and gone!

52 1/2 weeks.
Feels like a lifetime.
The firsts are over. One year of extreme loss. One year of replaying the moment that I found out I had lost my son.
One year of the most indescribable heart wrenching pain.
We made it through the first year💔
How do you spend the day that forever changes your life?
Spend the day laughing and eating! It meant so much to and I to be with Andrew, , Tyler, , and Brenden. I will never forget the laughter and “past-off” conversations around the kitchen table. Truly hearing the laughter made my heart so full!
Lastly, we loved being with my sons daughter, Carmen. Thanks so much for bringing Carmen to us. I can’t tell you how much joy she brings to our life.
I know this pain will never go away. But having family, friends and a hope makes such a difference in the healing process. We couldn’t have gotten through this last year without them!❤️

I can’t believe that I have been with this company for almost two years.
What makes me love this company?

Sustainability is defined as the actions humans make to avoid depleting the earths natural resources in order to maintain ecological balance.
Sustainability is a buzzword these days but how can we do our share?
Last week, on my free vacation with my company, my husband and I decided to drive up to Utah to Zion National Park. It’s so amazing to be driving on flat roads and all of a sudden come across these majestic mountains. We enjoyed the clean air, as well as, the animal and plant life. If only we could have spent more time there!
I can’t help but think how the earth entertains us with its beauty. In return, we can express gratitude by taking care of our own little corner of our earth!
Practical ways to take care of the earth
🌎 Deposit trash in a trash can not on the ground!
🌎 Take part in a recycling program.
🌎Use reusable shopping bags. Do you know how much plastic is in our ocean? Google it!
🌎 Use recycled materials when at all possible.
I’m so excited that the company I partner with is working to recycle our empties. Yes! For every pound of empties that you return you can earn credits to donate to a charity of your choice!
Here at Monat...everyday is Earth Day! We are working to be a truly sustainable company.

Happy National Puppy day!
For a long time I had been thinking about a puppy. I knew it was a huge responsibility. I knew that it would be like going back to having kids.
So I took the plunge.
I was right. It has changed our life! But she truly makes me smile everyday. She keeps us on our toes.
Story time...tonight as Keith was taking out the trash a little bird randomly flew into the house! Guess who caught this little bird in midair? Yep Luna.
We got her to drop it but it flew under the sofa! After putting Luna in the backyard we were able to get the the little bird safely outside.
O the joys of being a puppy parent!!!

Two years ago I sat on this beach! Sardinia is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
Sardinia is the second largest Mediterranean island off the coast of Italy.
How in the world did I find Sardinia? Thank George Clooney. Yes! The George Clooney was hurt (I’m glad you weren’t hurt badly) on a scooter in Sardinia while I was planning our trip. I thought if George was in Sardinia, it must be beautiful.
It didn’t disappoint! It was a hidden gem. Most people go to Italy to see Rome, Florence, and Venice. Don’t get me wrong, we went there too. But what’s a vacation without a beach day or two or three?
Come to find out there are over 240 beaches along the coast of Sardinia. Each beach seemingly more beautiful than the last. Some beaches are desolate and others have large rocks to sit and enjoy the view while dipping your toes into white fine sand. There were so many hues of blue! I have to say Cala Luna was our favorite. We stayed in a sleepy little town and had to get to it by boat and hope the day we chose wasn’t cloudy or rainy.
What do you think? I think it all worked out. We loved it so much. I can see why the Italians want to spend their vacations there!
Will Covid please go away so that we can travel again?

Happy National Daughters day!
When I used to tell my mom, “I love you” she would say, “I love you more.”
, I love you so much. I don’t want a day to go by without you knowing that I love you. I know you know I love you but I love you more than you could ever imagine!😘

Where will I go from here? How can I put the pieces of my life back together?
I’m not sure exactly but I know I have to try to take one day at a time.
I know I want to get back into my routine but it’s so hard. It’s like my brain says to move but my body feels limp without the ability to move.
When social media selling was still a baby, my son taught himself to build a social media biz. He was very successful. He didn’t let fear stop him.
He taught me so many things. He encouraged me to be consistent and keep going despite setbacks. He was my cheerleader!
So...that’s what I am going to do. Keep going. I love what my hair products have done for my hair. I love that it’s non toxic and not harmful to my body. Not only do I get great hair but amazing skin! Healthy living has been so important in my life as I have seen remarkable changes inside and out. I’m so excited to share our new Wellness line with you. I know this is what my son would want me to do.
I love that I have the ability to make a side income with the goal of working this business full time. I love seeing others have financial freedom and confidence just from a bottle of shampoo. Thank you for following my journey and being my support over the last few weeks. I have realized that I am not the only mom to lose her child so early. There are so many parents that have reached out to me to tell me about their experiences.
Grief isn’t always talked about in public spaces. As I go through the next weeks, months and years, I’d like to talk more about grief. I know I may be just another face on IG but I truly try to be my authentic self. As a result, I am a grieving mom. It has changed who I am forever. I will speak about grief with the goal of helping myself pick up the pieces and perhaps help others who may lose a child way too soon.

I have dreaded this post for a week. Posting this message is the most difficult of my entire life.
With the saddest heart I have to post that my husband and I lost our oldest son in an automobile accident. Thankfully he didn’t suffer but the pain I feel deep in my heart is indescribable. I totally feel that I have a hole in my heart. I just wish I could feel his long arms wrap around me and hear him say, “I love you.” Sadly, his four year old daughter will never truly know how much her daddy loved her. I have the most amazing friends who have come in and taken such good care of us over the last week. Our relationship with God and the hope He has given to us has made this last week and weeks to come bearable. One thing is for sure...this mama will never be the same.

Tuesday Tip #3
Guess where the most fragile hair is located?
Did you guess the hair around your face?
Yes! When we pull our hair back in a ponytail really tight, it can cause serious breakage. Who wants that?
We may often say, “I’m going to ‘pull’ my hair back in a ponytail before my workout.”
Next time don’t “pull” instead put it in a loose ponytail. If at all possible, try not to twist that hair tie at all. Use a moisture wicking headband to help hold your hair in place.
If all else fails and you need a hair tie, think about the Invisibobble! They are my fave go to hair tie!
