Pfizer withdraws its application for emergency use of its COVID-19 vaccine in India. Which it has developed with German company BioNTech.
The decision came after a meeting between Pfizer and Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, where the CDSCO experts declined to accept Pfizer's request for approval, as the company has not done the Small Local Trial to check the vaccine's immunogenicity for Indians.

The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) released the Class X and XII exam date sheet today. The exam is scheduled to start on May 4th and will finish on June 11. It includes 111 subjects and will be completed in 39 days. To reduce the duration, the exam will be conducted in two shifts.

Russian opposition leader Alexel Navalny who claimed to expose President Vladimir Putin on corruption charges was arrested by the Russian govt on Jan 17 for violating his parole conditions.

India started its COVID-19 vaccination program on 16 January and completed the 3 million mark just in 13 days, at the same time countries like the United States took 18 days, Israel took 33 days and the UK 36 days to reach the mark. India is currently focusing on vaccinating frontline healthcare workers with the daily average rate of 2 lakh.

The Pulse Polio program for 2021 was launched by president Ram Nath Kovind yesterday. Today is the first Polio Ravivar of the year and the program will continue till 2nd February.
The Polio Vaccination program was initially scheduled to start on 17 January but rescheduled due to COVID-19 vaccination drive, which started on 16 January.
Since the pan India vaccination program started on January 16, around 33 lakh frontline healthcare workers have received the vaccine in India.
