We have gotten lots of excellent suggestions for our Campaign. So far the leading word submissions are: ALEE, INTINCTION, HEDDLE, PORPHYRY, FLOOF, and HOOPOE. But we're still taking suggestions, and we wanted to share our criteria for the word (and some other thoughts we have about what might make for a viable candidate 😁). CRITERIA
The WORD must:

1) Have previously appeared in the Bee but not been counted
2) Have an entry in Merriam-Webster
3) Not be overly technical (i.e. a generalist in the relevant subject area should know it)
4) Not be offensive (in its primary, secondary, tertiary or any other sense!)

CONSIDERATIONS
We think that the WORD may have a better chance of being accepted for one or more of these reasons:

1) It’s familiar to a younger (under 40) demographic
2) It has roots in a language or culture that is under-represented in the Bee
3) It has unusual letters in it (e.g. K, Z, Q)
4) It is easy to mash (for those unfamiliar with it)
5) It belongs to a category in which Sam has previously accepted new words (e.g. flora, fauna, technology, etc.)
6) It is not a word that Sam takes personally (e.g. ALEE)
