Long time no post, I can only apologise but my head hasnt been in the right place to run things here but I'm back!
So here's an image drop including Star Wars: Legion bits for Separatist army, progress on my Tamiya race car, my lovely wolf bristle brushes from Chronicle Cards and my niece's first DnD character done in play and statuette scales :)

Had a bunch of fun with my subscriber model - very different approach to painting, because I wanted the assassin to almost blur out, I put all the effort into the terrain piece to make it the focal point rather than him

Havent done any painting for an age, I acquired this Taskmaster (for Marvel Crisis Protocol) already painted in a manner I didnt like so I repainted him in classic comic colours.
Not my top paintjob but I also only put an hour into it without stripping it first.

Gunna redo the skin on Captain Marvel. These are almost entirely a Corax White base and Contrast colours to get them on the table fast.

To celebrate 1 year of this page being alive, here is the completion of my 1k points of Adeptus Custodes.
Brothers of the Shield host of His Will - a host dedicated to ensuring that The Emperor and His Son's will is carried out, notably the enforcement of the Primaris project. As they were previously called upon to cull the Brazen Drakes, now they are entasked with being the first in line to deal with any resistance to the Primarch's orders...by any means necessary.
Here they are with my Host of the Avenging Son - dedicated guards of the Prinarch
I am happy that despite the difference in paint detail, they fit well enough.

As the community is losing its mind over GW right now:

I'll call this "all the hyperbole, none of the brains." - the community vs GW.

Firstly: they havent issued a single C&D, what they have done is update their legal terms as they move into different markets. Thats what they pay a legal team for.

Secondly: they cannot go after editorial content such as battle reports, codex reviews, tacticas and lore discussions. These are all protected. (They are even protected by GW's own legal terms, just check the T&Cs over on Warhammer Community)

They *can* go after anything making use of their copyrighted logos, imagery and intellectual property.

What fans *can* do is simply ASK GW, the way everyone does with Disney, if they can make or continue a piece that falls under the purview of film and animated media.
GW then has the opportunity to agree, disagree or even issue legal license for the work (again in the same manner that Disney fan works get approved by Disney all the time).

Like seriously... Using someone's IP without permission is like climbing into their garden and playing football without asking.
You know its wrong but you're doing it anyway, just ask 😂

Fun piece I did for a close friend last night - I had an open palette and decided to give green skin a shot - this was a mid green with a skin tone contrast wash and then highlighted to yellow.

Recent stuff made for Gaslands, the game of post apocalyptic/dystopian near future racing!
All the terrain apart from the turquoise starting gates has also been sized to be usable in our games of Necromunda - gang wars in far future hive cities!

Back on form after around 2 months of no impetus to paint and things going wrong, poor mental health and so on. Just gotta pick yourself up and bulldoze through it sometimes but its rarely as easy as it sounds!

Sorry things have been quiet folks, I have been having a rough time with mental health that has lead to a major lack of desire to hobby.
Starting to come out of the other side with some contrast painting for DnD and my next big project for my own army, the Kytan Ravager of Khorne!

Context: I was dumb enough to try and detail a big commission piece during a vicious run of migraines, child like errors were made. Easily fixed problems but shook my confidence as I have had a long run of my basics being "untouchable" in terms of critique, I needed to do something for myself to reaffirm things.
I am happy with this guy for a short afternoon's work.

EXCITING! So, aaaages ago I kickstarted this awesome DnD 5e kit from Steamforged Games based on the strength of a few bits of theirs I had had hands on such as guildball commissions, the fun nature of the premise and my family's love of DnD. Scroll forward and it arrived this week!!! Packaged and presented beautifully, we are so happy with it and cannot wait to get stuck in!
