Selekt Sounds proudly launches its vinyl-only imprint Selekt Wax with an evocative EP from Dragomir, one of Bucharest’s most prominent voices in minimal. Deeply introspective yet effortlessly hypnotic, this record is a meditation on space, tension, and the emotional resonance of stripped down groove. Each track pulses with a quiet intensity—crafted with care, driven by instinct, and tuned to the inner ear.

Etched on the sleeve, a poem sets the tone:

the space between the sounds
expansion and contraction
allow what comes up to flow
ebb like the ocean waves
keeping in time with the synchrony
manipulating sound waves
helps navigate the now
can you hear yourself between the sound?
in the space between.

Much like the words that frame it, this release invites listeners to tune in—not just to the music, but to the stillness it surrounds.

Hailing from the Kola Peninsula, we are proud to present SLS009—Maxseltram’s Sleeping Clarinet EP, featuring a remix by Brooklyn’s own Sasta.

This four-track release carries a laid-back, psychedelic vibe—flowing with trippy, textured grooves and a deep, meditative energy. Maxseltram creates a sound that’s both minimal and immersive, capturing the raw essence of underground music.

Sasta takes Sleeping Clarinet and adds his own unmistakable New York flair to the mix with dusty driving drums and textures, rolling basslines, and quirky plucky synths. The result is raw, gritty, and primed for the dancefloor.

Selekt Sessions returns with our latest guest

Valeria Croft is Helsinki based producer and DJ. After years of experience she found her personal style, a blend of house, minimalistic jazzy funky rhythms and breakbeat. In Helsinki she owns a studio which she shares with other music lovers. From her current base Valeria has embraced workflow of production, immersing herself in the studio. Her productions are always trippy, full of groove and texture. A new creative take on a genre or producing something a little different will set her production aside from classic dancefloor oriented tracks.

Katharine is our host and someone you should also familiarize yourself with if you haven’t got to know her yet. Katharine continuously strives to create community within the underground music scene, bringing artists together from all around to collaborate and share their art with the world. Make sure to follow her journey as she continues to curate this mix series with the best up and coming talent and be sure to listen to one of her many groove driven, psychedelic mixes.

Simple stripped back undulating rhythms with a with a classic techy feel fill the atmosphere of this release. Mendoza delivers 4 stripped back & groovy dance floor tools that feel familiar yet modern.

Born In Miami, Florida, Raised in Venezuela/Panamá Sebastian Mendoza is crazy and passionate about the Underground House Music.

Since childhood Sebastian’s family has been listening various music genres going from Rock & Roll to contemporary jazz, soul, funk and 80s 90s pop rock/ballads anthems that helped him to get that nostalgic old school sound on his music.

Mendoza is capable of creating a lot of material; from the most obscure minimalist sounds to the 90s iconic house rave sounds, trancy arps, inmense soundscapes, organs with stabs and a lot of obscure secret sampling techniques, blending famous old school vocals, understanding the times and respecting the house music structure is one of his greatest strengths.

About a year ago when I had first started the label I met this lovely human Katharine Aura Abrahams. We instantly bonded with our similar taste in psychedelic, jazzy and groovy underground minimalist records. Katharine quickly became my favorite DJ and an even closer friend. Fast forward to today I’d love to officially announce her becoming apart of the team here and helping me organize our latest endeavor, Selekt Sessions.

Katharine has delivered countless mixes you can hear online, each with its own purpose and vibe. She is the definition of a selector and curator of vibes. She has assembled a list of some of the absolute best producers and DJs and we will be bringing mixes from them to you over the next few months with our brand new podcast series.

Our first offering comes from fast-rising UK duo Last Pines - the brothers take us on a minimalistic journey through some of their firm favourites and own productions. With their recent release on series which sold out in a few days, Clay and Heath now look forward to a 3-tracker on later this month, with a new remix coming just before..

A short bio from our host, Katharine has been influencing dance floors playing sideways house in Australia since 2000, and now makes mixes for collectives around the world who appreciate her take on minimal. She has a unique way, intuitively selecting & slipping between the sublime & mysterious, with raw street sounds, a twisted funk and house bounce. She smoothly threads her sessions together with a strangely satisfying & homogeneous groove. Katharine runs her label and party series Motion:Theory:Music with Ben Abrahams and Jules David - renowned influencers of the East Coast underground.
