Last nights dinner. Thank you for the foraging finds BIL! When all the hiking, hunting and foraging happens 🍄

A simple recipe sauteed with butter, sweet onions and chanterelles. Couple the dash of garlic salt and finish with oyster sauce, stir fry to your liking.

Served over a bread of rice. Yummy 😋

Welcome to Bass Week!

All week long WDFW will highlight all things bass fishing. We will have tips and tricks, videos, and even a photo contest.

Don’t miss your chance to land some prizes with your bass photos! Submit your bass photo on the WDFW photo submission page any time by Thursday. There are three categories with one winner each, and every winner will receive a donated Cabela’s/Bass Pro Shops gift card. Winners will be announced on the WDFW Facebook and Instagram pages on July 19.

The three categories to win:

• All around best bass photo* — $50 gift card

• Best pose — $50 gift card

• Most excited angler — $50 gift card

Participating is easy:

1. Just submit your bass photo on the WDFW photo submission page by Thursday: https://wdfw.wa.gov/share.

2. Select the “Bass Week Photo Contest” category in the dropdown menu.

3. Enter any information you would like to provide about your bass photo.

Feeling crabby?

Dungeness crab fishing opens July 1 in many marine areas of Puget Sound and anglers need to be aware of the extremely low tides this coming week, which will also pose a challenge for people launching boats at some sites.

Recreational crabbers should target the portion of the day with the least tide exchange and make sure their crab pots are properly weighted down during these extreme low tides to avoid traps moving and becoming lost. Crabbers can find helpful information on how to properly weight crab pots, by going to the Northwest Straits Commission website or the WDFW crabbing webpage. Fishing Tournament, June 29, 2024, 9am to 2pm, Kelley Point Park, Picnic C
Join us for a family-friendly fishing outing on the Willamette River at Kelley Point Park. You'll learn about fishing, and which fish are okay and not okay to eat from the river.

If you’re new to fishing, this is a great way to try it. Fishing experts will be there to help, and we’ll have limited loaner gear available on a first-come, first served basis.

Win prizes for biggest carp, most fish, youngest fisher to catch a fish and more!

Everyone welcome. No registration, just show up.

Offered in partnership with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife.

What to Bring
Your own pole and tackle (limited loaner gear available)
Fishing license for ages 12+
Life jackets advised for children and non-swimmers
Picnic lunch
Cost

A fishing license is required for everyone 12 years old and up. The license fee may be waived for youth 17 and under if they participate in a short educational activity led by ODFW before fishing.

Getting There
Ride TriMet to N Marine and Pacific Gateway Blvd (stop ID 9459)(link is external) and walk to Kelley Point Park.

There's also free parking or you can bike there.
