NEW SCHEDULING UPDATE!

Starting with our upcoming episode #111, our episodes will be released on Wednesdays to coincide with New Comic Book Day (previously, episodes were released on Tuesdays).

With a new format coming out later this year, releasing our episodes on Wednesdays will provide you not only a deep dive comic review but we will also talk about upcoming new comics that will be coming out as well as what comics we will be providing a written review for that week!

We're excited for this change and hope you are, too!

KLIK KLIK BOOM #2: FAR FROM BEING BLASE (9.6/10)
Klik Klik Boom is one of the best stories to come out from the comic industry this year. A perfect balance of humor, action, mystery, and drama, this series is worthy of everyone's pull list.

W0RLDTR33 #4: THIS IS ALL KINDS OF F$%* #! UP (9.3/10)
A first glance at the Undernet is here, and it's so disturbing that someone needs to check in on the creative team to make sure they're okay!

"The idea behind the story is a good idea, but there were a lot more misses than hits with its ex*****on. If one can look over some of the storytelling gaps and pacing problems the issue had, fans will still ultimately enjoy the story as well as enjoy some of its peak moments, but overall this one could have used more work before being printed."

Ever since I watched “Legend Of Vox Machina” from Critical Role, I’ve been hooked on the show and been itching to play Dungeons And Dragons.

Over the weekend, Valkyries Vault gave me the chance to learn how to play Pathfinder from one of their community members and I had SO much fun with it! I’m all in to play more often.

I became a huge fan of Critical Role with their work and their streaming show, and I hope to play their latest game, Candela Obscura, here soon! This has made me look forward to GenCon next month!!!

PORTLAND, Ore. 07/13/2023 — Launching from this Fall from Image Comics/Syzygy comes a gripping four-issue horror miniseries titled, A Haunted Girl. Co-written by the father-daughter team of Ethan Sacks (Star Wars: Bounty Hunters) and Naomi Sacks, with art by Marco Lorenzana (Incredible Hulk), this paranormal thriller channels terrors both otherworldly as well as the real-life terror that comes with struggles of anxiety and depression.

In A Haunted Girl, readers meet Cleo, a 16-year-old adopted Japanese-American whose anxiety and depression drives her to suicidal thoughts, is fresh out of the hospital and trying unsuccessfully to reintegrate back into her old life. What she doesn't know is that her real struggles are just beginning as she finds herself encountering an increasingly terrifying succession of ghosts. Is she losing her grip on reality… or is the explanation much, much worse?

“Four years ago, while my daughter was hospitalized, I came up with the idea of a story about a girl who’s battling depression and finds out she’s the sole hope to save the world,” said Ethan Sacks. “That she would find a way to endure and to save everyone she loves. It was meant to be uplifting and cathartic. Now four years later, my daughter is in a place where she could help write that story. To inspire others going through similar struggles. As a father, I’m proud. As a comic book writer, I’m inspired. As a human being, I’m moved.”

“I’ve always loved writing. And with A Haunted Girl there was a chance for me to work on a story that is very personal,” said Naomi Sacks. “Cleo, the main character, goes through a lot of the same struggles that I did and feels hopeless at many times as I did. But that she perseveres is inspirational to me, too."

Acclaimed creator Joe Quesada and colorist Richard Isanove provide the primary cover, with variants by Fico Ossio, Ryusei Yamada, and a virgin, B&W variant by Quesada, too. An inspiration to those battling their own demons, A Haunted Girl #1 hits stores Wednesday, October 11.

X-23: Deadly Regenesis is a fun series that takes the reader back to some of Laura's early days. The most impressive part about this series is how it gives the reader enough context to enjoy the story without feeling like they need to know what happened in previous issues or series. This one is a great one for people to hop in on at any time.

This week's comics reviews from The Captioned Life (courtesy of Comic Watch) is Tim Drake and Deadpool!

TIM DRAKE: ROBIN #8 - 8.1 / 10

Although the last issue didn't allow the story to develop fully and had some artistic choices that were questionable, it's definitely an issue that helps round out the story of Tim Drake and his love for his family.

DEADPOOL #8 - 8.8 / 10

The creative team here does a fantastic job of continuing the essence of Deadpool in new and challenging ways. Though there were a few moments that may have been cringe-worthy, the issue overall is a hit.
