It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 🎄

One of my favorite traditions in our family is that each of us picks a new ornament every year to add to the tree.
It’s always fun looking back at the things the kids were really in to over the years, and all the memories hanging around the tree.

Do y’all have a favorite holiday decorating tradition?

It’s finally in my hands! One of my all-time GRAIL TAPES…📼

It’s honestly kind of hard to believe I just now snagged a copy of what was one of my favorite movies as a kid!

It was never really made widely available on DVD, and although back in 2020 they released a restored digital 4k version for streaming rental/purchase… I prefer to watch it on VHS🤘🏼.

If you weren’t obsessed with this movie like I was -or- just never watched it here’s a synopsis that’ll surely convince you to seek out the streaming version of this LEGENDARY ‘80s masterpiece:

🦃🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from That Would Be Rad! 🍂🦃

As we sit around our tables today, full of turkey and gratitude (and probably a few slices of pie too many), we wanted to take a moment to thank YOU—our incredible listeners, our rad ‘best friends’ who support us on Patreon, and the community that makes this all worthwhile.

Every story we share, every rabbit hole we dive into, and every laugh we have along the way is made so much better knowing you’re right there with us. Whether you’ve been listening since day one or you just discovered us, you’re the reason we keep the mics on and the weirdness flowing.

This podcast has become more than just a place to talk about strange stories and mysteries—it’s a space for connection, curiosity, and good old-fashioned fun. And we couldn’t do it without you.

Right now, as my kids have completely taken over the TV to watch the Macy’s parade, I’m spinning The Godfather soundtrack on vinyl to set the mood while we gear up for a busy day. It’s those little moments that remind me what today is all about—family, traditions, and the soundtracks that tie it all together.

Showing off some of my terrain builds from a few sessions ago!

My adventurers had found themselves on the outskirts of a large battle, meeting with a rebellion general who needs their help.
A group of feywild refugees 🧚‍♀️🧚 are being hunted by an evil king who has allegedly made a deal with a mysterious evil being from another plane of existence…
Our heroes learn that this battle is a strategically planned distraction by the rebellion to sneak into an old forgotten city (now nothing more than overgrown ruins) and rescue these refugees who are hiding there.
What both sides didn’t know was that an ancient creature lies dormant from within the old dilapidated chapel of this ruined city.
What will happen when it’s awakened as they begin their rescue operation?
Did they survive?
Did they rescue any or all of the feywild refugees?

The question my players ask me is - do I build the terrain to fit the session or write the session around the terrain I build.
The answer is: yes 🤣

On our show we’ve often talked about objects/artifacts that potentially harbor energy (bad or good) that people bring into their homes…

It got us thinking about the various shelves of collectibles, vhs tapes, books, etc that we have.
Who knows if objects can truly store energy, or even harbor nefarious spirits as some have claimed - it’s not our mission to make that determination.

But, even removing the supernatural from the conversation, it’s equally interesting to us both to think about “the life” these relics have lived!
Countless movie nights in a vcr, played across televisions around the world, toys that were played with endlessly, and the numerous emotions they invoked even if indirectly.
To tap into those is a fascinating idea.
