I can officially say that the Zambia Road Trip made it out of the group chat!

Last week my friends and I went on a road trip of a lifetime! We drove from Johannesburg to Livingstone, Zambia, walked over to Zimbabwe to see the Vic Falls and drove back to Johannesburg.
illers and I started planning this trip about a month ago and we managed to fill the MU-X with a great group of friends! We visited epic places, saw incredible landscapes and met lovely people.

This trip is one for the books, if you are thinking about doing a trip like this, here are some tips:
1. Download the iOverlander app. They give great recommendations on where to camp, eat, fuel up, where to sleep and epic photo spots!
2. Visit the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Botswana.
3. Visit Gweta, Botswana.
4. Have your cross border documents printed and ensure that you have all of the necessary documents.
5. Chat to locals, they give the best advice on where to go and what to see.
6. If you drove to Zambia to see the Vic Falls, don’t drive over to Zimbabwe’s side, rather walk across the border.
7. Don’t drive at night, there are a lot of wild animals walking around.

If you have any other questions, pop them below. 😊

Just over 2 hours from Joburg and you’re in a whole different world.

I spent the weekend at Finfoot Lake Reserve, tucked away in the Elands River Game Reserve near Vaalkop Dam in the North West – and it was nothing but fun!

They’ve got a few accommodation options depending on what your preference is: you can stay in a cosy chalet, a luxury safari tent, or a self-catering villa if you’re coming with a group. I stayed in one of their chalets and had the absolute best time.

There is also no shortage of things to do here — from adventure-filled activities to the most delicious meals which will keep you fuelled all weekend long.

I highly recommend this one for a reset and here is some good news…if you book through the link in my bio or make use of my code “WanderWithIana” you can qualify for a discount on Dinner, Bed & Breakfast bookings.

If you’re looking for a mixture of relaxation and adventure, is the place to go!

It’s just over 2 hours outside of Joburg, set in the beautiful Elands River Game Reserve near Vaalkop Dam. I stayed in one of their chalets, but you can also choose a luxury safari tent or a self-catering villa depending on your trip.

Now let’s talk about all the activities:
🛶 Canoeing
🐾 Game drives & wildlife bush walks
🦅 Birdwatching
🎯 Clay shooting
🚜 Segway safaris
🛥️ Barge cruises
💆 And yes… a spa for the relaxed moments too

Make sure to use my code “WanderWithIana” when booking Dinner, Bed & Breakfast via the link in my bio to qualify for a discount.

2 Bucket-List stays you have to visit this Winter season in South Africa! 🇿🇦

I just found the perfect winter escape and it’s in the beautiful little town of Clarens. The and are both on one property, so you can choose whether you want a stay for 2 or a group stay.

The Bungalow Belle Vie is perfect for a couple. It’s cosy, has all of the self catering amenities and the bungalow overlooks the beautiful Maluti Mountains.

The French Cottage sleeps 6 people and is ideal for a family or for a group of friends wanting a nice getaway. The cottage also has all of the self catering amenities and it feels as if you are sitting in the countryside of France.

Both properties have access to a hiking trail that leads to a beautiful waterfall!

If you haven’t booked your winter escape yet, now is your chance! You can find the booking link in my bio. 😊

Day 1 and 2 has been a blast on the Sasol Mzansi Tour. The excitement started at Sasol Excellence where we embarked on our trip to our first stop, the Drakensberg.

Our journey was nothing but fun, our stay at Drakensberg Sun was indescribable and the people on this trip makes every moment even more special. You can’t get a better combination than this.

I was going through the archives and I picked out some of my favourite Drakensberg pictures from the past few years.

The Drakensberg is one of my favourite places in South Africa - Each visit brings new adventures, memories and experiences. A hike here is something that I will recommend to anyone looking for an interesting and exciting adventure.

Summer is a great season to hike. You have warm weather, the waterfall is flowing, it’s lush and green, you might see cloud inversions and the night’s aren’t cold, however, you have to watch out for rain and thunderstorms.

Winter, on the other hand, is also a great time to hike, you’ll just have a little more challenges. What’s nice about winter is the landscape looks completely different, you don’t have to be on the lookout for rain or thunderstorms, you may experience snow and it makes those long hiking days a little more bearable with the colder weather. However, the downsides are the cold nights (it gets extremely cold) and a lot of the streams and waterfalls run dry.

If you have any questions regarding hiking, pop them in the comments. 😊

If you told me at the start of the year that I would be competing in a triathlon in March I would’ve said that you are crazy.

The opportunity popped up in February and knowing that I always LOVE a challenge, I couldn’t pass this up. I agreed to participate in the Corporate Triathlon Challenge which is a 400m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run. This was not only a race, but also an opportunity to create awareness for the charity which supports children in need.

Knowing that I was participating for this cause, it made me push even harder. Unfortunately, prior to the race, I picked up a stomach bug and couldn’t properly prepare, but without any training, I managed to complete the race in 1 hour and 18 minutes! I finished 9th in the female category, 2nd in my age group and 36th overall. I couldn’t be prouder and I’m looking forward to the next one.

A big thank you to for all of the support and by making this possible.

Happy International Natural Day!

Today I am celebrating nature and nature, to me, is freedom. It's where I feel the most alive and the most peace at the same time.

It's quite a rainy day today, but I love those days. Everything slows down, the air smells fresh and it reminds me of my waterfall adventures.

These are two of my favourite waterfall memories—untouched, pure, and refreshing, just like Corona. The hike to these hidden gems were intense, but every step was worth it. That’s the beauty of nature—it turns every journey into an adventure, and the reward at the end is always worth it.

Nature is raw, unpredictable, and always finds a way to remind you just how small you are—in the best possible way. Just like Corona, it’s made from the natural world, pure and refreshing. 🌿🍺 , tell me, what does nature mean to you?

Celebrate this International Natural Day by enjoying a beer made with natural ingredients. Just add a lime!
