NEW VIDEO! LINK IN BIO! Still a terrible tig welder even with this sweet FUPA cup. But little by little I’m getting better. With more practice I’ll get there. Anyways. New video of me putting together the new down pipe for the swapped GMC. I used a exhaust pipe and threw on a 4” exhaust fl**ge to hook up to the 62/65 Turbo.

New Youtube video coming soon. Couldn’t sit on this clip any longer though. Feels good to finally see the engine fire up in the chassis. Still have a lot of work ahead of me. But this was big progress.

Got the Cummins and 48re installed for the last time of the mock up process. Now we can move on to the trans crossmember and all the tedious stuff like wiring, fuel system, ac, cooling, inter cooling, transmission cooling, power steering and brakes. Happy to finally make it to this point so we can get it running in the chassis now. It’s taken way too long.

We picked up transmission number 3. And I think this is the one we will go with. Going to sell the 46rh, the Allison 1000, and the adapter parts. We are locking in to use the 48.

New Video!!! Got all the seats out and found a ton of mouse p**p. This carpet is definitely going in the trash. But almost to where I need to be so we can start cutting. Just happy with what I was able to get done with an hour. Also made my whole video in my new editor. I got a ton to learn with it. But we will get there.

Well I was going to sit on this video since I think I already posted this week. But I’ll just throw it out there anyways. Got the Cummins and Allsion back in the truck to test fit. Definitely going to need a little cutting to get the pan above the frame rails. But it looked good in its home.

Soo last night didn’t go as planned due to rain. So I may have done some playing around with this video. Plus I was having audio issues. But either way I at least got the Cummins and Allsion mated together. Pretty happy about that.

Last night I got about 2 hours in the garage. Somehow I managed to use that to pull the engine and trans back out of the truck and get the Adapter plate mounted on the back of the engine.

Also got to shoot this video using the new PowerShot G7X Mark III. I feel like the video quality is soooo much smoother at high resolution. But I definitely need to get use to holding this one and using it for vlogging.

Went ahead and threw a video together from Friday at LST. The video isn’t great. I had my GoPro in 4K which only does 15FPS and makes the video look glitchy. Then I forgot it all together Saturday when all the cars were there. VS deleting all the footage I decided to put it in a vid and post it anyways.

So I put the hustle in this weekend and got the rest of the truck torn down and the engine kinda set into place. It’s not on the mounts yet since I need to clearance the firewall some more. But it’s pretty much in there. Also went ahead and knocked out a video while I was at it. But we are almost there!

Huge thanks to Haulin Exotics for towing this thing back to the garage for me. If you ever need top notch towing and you don’t know this guy already he laid this thing right into place and saved me from breaking my back. Now that it’s home it’s time to get to work on setting the Cummins into the engine bay.

Got the belt drive fully assembled with the right size belt and tensioner finally. Time to bring the truck home. Probably going to order one more part before i set her in her new home.

More parts! Got the DSC radiator hose conversion that goes from a Cummins to a OBS GM 6.5 diesel factory radiator. Also snagged their Cummins to OBS power steering line that should drop right into place. It’s hopefully these parts that will speed up the install when the truck comes home very soon.

Got the TVs working on the splitter and the remote hooked up to turn the garage lights on. Just need to do some wire clean up. Trying to decide if I want to do some sound deadening since this is my filming studio as well. Just worried it would cut down on light reflections and make it darker in here.

Had 1 hour in the garage tonight and managed to hang up 4 new 4’ LED shop lights I got off Amazon for $60 and seem to work pretty good. Need to figure out how to switch them on all at once. I don’t know how I was working in the garage before. The pictures don’t do justice how dark it is with the one light VS 5 of them.

Also my KPD showed up and installed it. Just need to do the front main seal and the timing cover gasket and this sucker will be ready to drop in the truck for mock up and wiring.

Hopefully I’ll have a YouTube video this week of getting it ready for the truck. I should have the truck home this month to set the engine in.

Just a little test fit to make sure I ordered the right parts. Can’t wait for the timing gasket and killer dowel pin to get here so I can start putting this all this together and get it sitting in the dually.

And just like that a new alternator, compressor and accumulator, and condenser showed up. Also have a new water pump, thermostat, radiator, fan clutch, and some other parts headed this way. Still need to order my 150 lift pump, sump, and pump block off plate. Also need to find a intercooler application for this truck still.

New parts are starting to show up for the swap. Hopefully by the end of the week this will be a full shelf of new parts that can go on the engine in preparation for it going in the truck. As soon as I start putting all of it together I’ll video it for the GarageBilt YouTube Channel.

I know it doesn’t look like much. But it’s right at the point that only a few things need to happen to bring the truck home. Mostly I need a few parts for the engine so I can take my work table down and have more space.
