Theme: “Only in Marinduque”

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
1. Marinduque youth (residing in Marinduque)*
2. Age 14-30
3. Office of the Vice Governor’s staff are not allowed to join

ABOUT THE PHOTO

1. One entry (1) per contestant and must be an original photo of the contestant
2. Photos captured using mobile phone only
3. Photo must be in JPEG format
4. Photo must not contain watermarks, date stamps or any text on the image
5. Photo entry must not have been recipient of awards in other contests and or published in any media
6. Photo must be in landscape (16x9)
7. Official entries shall be a property of Office of the Vice Governor

HOW TO JOIN?

Contestant must submit their entry by sending an email to [email protected]

Subject of the email must be: PHOTO CONTEST_SURNAME _PHOTO TITLE

Contestants must also provide the following info:
- Full Name
- Address
- Mobile Number
- Photo Title
- Photo Description (1-2 sentence)
- Mobile phone used

Deadline of submission of entry is on July 30, 2022
- Pre-screened entries will be uploaded at Adeline “Lyn” Marciano Angeles page on August 1, 2022.
- Voting period for the finalist is from August 1 to August 10, 2022.

PANATA AT KABABAIHAN. In observance of the Holy Week and in celebration of Moriones Festival, the invites you to a free webinar entitled “Panata at Kababaihan: Women’s Role in the Preservation of Moryonan and Lenten Rites in Marinduque” on 12 April 2022 (Holy Tuesday), 9AM-11AM through Zoom and Facebook Live.

The webinar is a corollary activity of the “Moryonan: Art and Devotion” exhibition at the Marinduque-Romblon Area Museum in Boac. The exhibition features the tangible and intangible cultural heritage (ICH) of Marinduque, particularly the moryonan or Moriones Festival, the art of headmask-making and other practices during Holy Week such as antipo and pupuwa.

Prof. Bryan Viray of the College of Arts and Letters of the University of the Philippines, Diliman, will talk about the “Panata ng Babaeng Moryon” while Mr. Emmanuel Jayson V. Bolata of the Department of History, also from UP Diliman, will discuss his research about the “Pagsusunong ng Pupuwa ng Kababaihang Gaseña.” Lastly, Dr. Randy Nobleza, Director of Sentro ng Wika at Kultura of the Marinduque State College, will share his presentation on “Mga Kwento ng Pagbabago at Pagpapanatili ng Panata sa Panahon ng Pandemiya”.

The webinar aims to foster awareness and appreciation of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Marinduque and encourage the safeguarding and transmission of ICH. Likewise, it recognizes the role of women in the continuation and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Marinduque.
