According to Indian media reports, in the Usmanpura area of Ahmedabad, on the night of November 18, at around 10 pm, unidentified enraged people surrounded the youths sitting on the road and started questioning them.
There were also 2 Muslim youths in the group, whose names were asked by the enraged people who first sold them linguistics and then stabbed them.
Two of the injured were identified as Nowshad and Rohan, who were shifted to Ahmedabad District Hospital.
Mohammad Rohan, who was injured in the attack, said: “As we were sitting on the river front, suddenly six non-Muslim boys came and asked us our names and started abusing us. They had knives with which they stabbed. Nowshad and I were attacked and fled.
“People there called 108 and 100, after which we were rushed to the hospital. Nowshad was seriously injured in the attack and was admitted to the intensive care unit by the doctors,” the victim said.
Rohan said, “I was stabbed in the hand. The doctor declared the condition out of danger and allowed me to go home.”
Police recorded Rohan’s statement after the incident and launched an investigation while Naushad is awaiting recovery.
On the other hand, the local political party rejected the legal action taken by the police and demanded that section 307 murder be included in the FIR
