Jason Swanston - CEO, Founder, Tech Entrepreneur, Entertainment CMO,
Global Humanitarian
Born and raised in NYC, Jason has more than 25 years’ experience in
animation, video game development, and computer science. Inspired by
hanging out in recreational centers in Harlem, like Minisink, and learning
about history at the Schomburg Library, his computing mother and
mathematician father instilled an independent and curious spirit in him -
which served him well creatively and intellectually.
Jason began attending NYU’s Science and Technology Entry Program at 13. He
entered Columbia University at 15 to study biology. After working as an
intern at Advanced Multimedia Systems, a company which manufactured high
end computers for CGI based Hollywood films, he mastered animation,
graphic design, and software development. At 17, he taught himself video
game coding and created his first video game, K-9 Contact, a cyborg dog
fighting video game designed to end dog fighting, and other animal-centric
interactive P2P video games.
Immediately drawn to Hip Hop’s business culture, he established himself as
a digital strategist in 1997 by employing 1200 marketers across 32 cities
in the USA to increase platinum artists’ record sales.
By 2012, he was a seasoned CEO and social media master for the biggest
names in music and film. In addition to his animation design and
programming acumen, he is globally respected as a conversion rate
specialist in e-commerce, and as an inspirational leader.
Past and current client list includes: MCA, Universal Records, Geffen,
Dreamworks, Arista, Bad Boy, Death Row, Priority, Relativity, Ruthless
Records, Wu-Tang Records, Sony, Colombia, Def Jam, Polygram, Mary J Blige,
Celine Dion, Jay Z, P. Diddy, Master P, and many others.
A lifelong entrepreneur, he also created OVNIO, a social TV network, also
known as “The People’s Network.” It is the first interactive streaming
platform to revolutionize the way users consume content online and
socialize with friends, with new features now known as “shoppable
entertainment.” OVNIO streaming service is US patented. OVNIO’s mobile
app will be available in 2022/2023, with numerous lifestyle channels
streaming in 80 countries with minimum to no buffering.
Over the next 20 years, he developed his technology and marketing prowess
in the entertainment industry by aggressively advocating for the proper
education of Hip Hop’s origins, preserving the culture, building the
International Museum of Hip Hop in Las Vegas (opening in 2025), and
cross-marketing the Hip Hop culture from different positions around the
globe. Utilizing the block chain to secure the legacies of icons and
legends, Jason co-founded NFT Fans Agency, Inc. last year in 2021 with business partner Anthony Tony Ray Edwards. His
mission is to guide the estates and family members of entertainers and
celebrities to maximize their legacy imprint in the metaverse for the next
100 years. He and his team are aggressively building out their hyper
realistic metaverse called EARPHIA (www.earphio.io ) that is focused
dominating 25% of the metaverse marketplace over 10 years.
A lifelong traveler, he has lived in urban areas of the world from South
America to Asia, always intrigued with cultural investigation, adventure,
and seeing Hip Hop artists live their best lives.
He is a humanitarian,
through mentorship, philanthropy, diverse professional relationships, and
education of the next generation.
