so for R-2 zoning, look down the column below the zoning designation and you see that in R-2 there are numerous types of dwelling units allowed on lots as small as 2400 sf...a 'standard' R-1 lost is 6500 sf but with a special use permit you CAN, if voted in, get Much smaller lots in that zone too (cottage homes)

There are Three (3) hearings noticed in the Post Falls/CDA Press as 'posting in newspaper' is required.
Two are for property off Spokane Street, near the golf course, that shares a property line and the request is to Annex into the City (which is the only way to get zoning and Sewer service...if not in City, it is rural and on septic = large lot only) AND give the annexed land an R-2/ Medium Density zoning. The third hearing is for approx acres of property, at the southwest corner of McGuire and Poleline, requesting annexation and an R-1 zone (single family lots) where almost everything on that side of McGuire is currently 5 acre minimums/County zoning.

It is my opinion that the two parcels on Spokane Street should NOT be allowed into the City unless the zoning is ONLY R-1. Everything around them is R-1 or on the golf course. The 'empty' space in the photo map just below the request is already undergoing construction as R-1 lots.
R-2 'rights' are posted below the photo map along with R-1 for comparison.
Want to comment? You can via Post Falls City website public hearings OR come to the meeting 2-11-2025. As an aside, you hear 'small lots = affordability' but for developers, small lots = more homes = more profit and there is NOTHING to stop investors from buying the units and making them all rentals. Keep apartments and small lot homes closer to the interstate or Hwy 41 in my view.

Wow, what an absolute shame. This company has done nothing but support our great community and this is how they're repaid.😥😥😥

This is why we can't have nice things, or have people that do good things for others. Absolutely disgraceful.

We absolutely love being in a position and able to give away pies to those in need. It's a huge blessing we only hoped to be possible when starting the company 5 years ago. It's likely something we did wrong or the culture we created, but the last couple big holidays, the anticipation of free pies and folks showing up asking for free pies after the holiday pickup has really grown. Which is all okay. But then...yesterday. Yesterday. We came to the shop to make some pies for some families who have loved on mine the last few months -- to my surprise, our fridge trailer was wide open and we had well-intentioned people already helping themselves to pie and we had not posted anything about it. 😳

Here was the "main" issue yesterday. People who paid for those pies had asked for us to put it in the trailer with their name on it because they missed pickup day thinking we were closed on Monday.

Now, in these people's defense yesterday, they said they were told they could go. It's all good, I let them have pie. But a LOT of pie was taken from the trailer all day long before I showed up.

So will we continue a tradition of spreading free pie around the region? Yes, we will. But I only ask that you don't assume free pie is there for the picking until I post about it. In addition, the primary purpose is to deliver pie to people in need or who need to work during the holiday. And before someone says you should "lock it" - please know that means I have to go on my own well-earned holiday and unlock it and monitor the free pies. It's never been an issue before, and after this post, I pray it won't be an issue again.

I love you! No harm, no foul. Just wait next time until you absolutely see a green light!

Speaking of green lights - the trailer in Post Falls does have pie and it is officially available to those in need. Enjoy!
